I had over 20 years , active and Guard and we were always trained not to do this kind of thing , 1 concession I would make is I was never in combat so It may be from the stress he misbehaved

Oh yeah, they'll tell you not to all day long. We get cultural sensitivity training and all that stuff prior to every deployment. Then a parachute grenade takes the front of one of your soldier's head off. Sensitivity goes out the window. You have time to reflect on it later when you are pressure hosing your buddies brains out of the wrecked humvee.

Why add fuel to the flame. By uploading the video of Marines urinating on the corpses of dead Taliban combatants, you've just incensed a whole bunch of people. Youtube gets 1 billiion unique visitors annually, many of whom love to find something to hate about the United States...you've just given them a reason.

I personally don't consider it all that egregious, though I've never been in combat, however some may find it offensive so why give them ammunition to defame the U.S. armed forces? Why upload for any resident of planet Earth with an internet connection to watch?

Nope, the rape is not ok. There is a difference between combatants and innocents that it is never ok to cross. As soon as someone takes up arms against me or my men, it's game on. I'm sending you to hell, and I don't care much how it is done, humanely or otherwise. If it is an honorable opponent, is try to give him a quick and painless death. If it is ISIS and the like, I could care less if they suffer or are humiliated. If they are non combatants, I do my damnedest not to harm them, but it is war, and (*)(*)(*)(*) happens sometimes. War is hell.

 

You can expect reality FA, and that is the way it is. War on the real battlefield is not some video game, and what the enemy does to our soldiers has always been far worse that what we have done. You would have to be there to understand

99.9% of ALL solders - EVER - who have worn a United States Military Uniform would fine the whole thing distasteful and disrespectful. These men have no honor and to think they did is disservice to the millions who've worn the uniform proudly and didn't feel the need to urinate on an enemy warriors dead body.

 

this was disgusting and anyone that does it or supports it should be ashamed of themselves, if the Taliban did this to American soldiers would you be so excusing of them, of course not, we would be disgusted and rightly so - we have come to expect this from them, lets not come to expect it from our own..... we are better then that

My worse fear in Vietnam was not being killed, it was being captured and tortured. I don't know what unit you're in, or have been in, but that is pretty damned mild compared to a lot of the stuff I've seen. Granted, we don't go posting it on Facebook or whatever, but if you've been outside the wire more than a few times, you will see things like this. It's not pleasant, but to say they have no honor is a pretty terrible thing to say to someone who sacrificed so much for their country.
