I think with the decrease in oil rates that Obama just saved the republicans ass. He is doing the two party scam proud. He looks like he actually cares about the environment for the democrat sheeple, and is still the Johnny Obama on the spot bad guy with the republican sheeple. It's a win/win situation no matter how you look at it for the two party scam.

    Perhaps true.

Flat out balogna. More jobs will be lost after it's built. You know all those people involved in hauling it now. Jobs will be lost.

    What? Making stuff up?

I have a lot of pipeliner friends that were highly looking forward to building this thing. They would have brought in anywhere close to 7k a month working on it.

No we didn't. He isn't a dictator!!! BTW, all you Lefties that cry about putting people to work to fix our infrastructure and how good it would be for jobs. Those are temporary too my friend.

    - - - Updated - - -

It's funny how all the Obama lovers say these jobs would be temporary. Wouldn't the jobs to rebuild our roads and bridges be temporary too? Yes they would, but these hacks LOVE that idea.

I think one thing to mention (if it hasn't already), was that Obama said he was going to veto any bill that bypassed the State Depts Review, which is still ongoing. Rather then act surprised that this happened, perhaps people should be asking why the Review is taking so long.

Personally I want it approved, because

    A) the oil is getting extracted, whether this pipeline is approved or not

    B) New pipes are a heck of a lot safer then trains

Silly boy, did you forget what sort of "Government" we have? Got to do a little trading and bang it will be approved.
Welcome back to reality, always nice to help out.

And yet the GOP lost not once, but twice to this ZERO (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)bag in the White House.

Speaks volume for the GOP and their desired candidates they rely on the American people to vote for.

Romney???? Really???? Why would I vote for another Big Govt Statist like Obama????

Maybe the GOP will get it right in 2016.

So basically Obama is stating man made global warming is a lie otherwise he would have put the needs of humanity above his politics..

i actually agree - i lean right but im not a hater of democrats - the point that the jobs arent long lasting is interesting to me - but with that said, he wants to invest in infrastructure which has a similar feel to it - i think its more about the enivornment and his push against traditional oil toward cleaner evnironmental stuff - if he passed or allowed this to pass, he would have prob gotten castrated by his supporters

Doubtful they'll ride and defend his sack no matter what he does. A lot of them are emotional invested in Obama and simple refuse to acknowledge reality

all the prev Presidents have done the same with their EO's, not sure what your saying, do you want to do away with all future EO's?

if republicans would of gave Dems something they wanted in the pipeline bill, it would of passed, they do not have full control, repubs do the same when they have partial control, neither party has full control here, they have to work together... give and take

Ah so democrats require payment for any yes vote. I bet they got paid just the same for the no vote.

republicans can't get everything they want, yes, they have to give if they want to get

repubs do not have full control, nor do dems, they have to work together.....

yes, both repubs and dems get paid just the same regardless, but were not talking pay here, were talking about the bills, if the repubs want a pipeline offer dems something they want

Thanks Obama for protecting the environment. The pipeline was just another scheme for the oil companies to profit at the expense of others.

As the man said in his SOTU speech recently, there are a hell of a lot more ways to produce long term permanent jobs in America and shore up our infra-structure than just one pipeline that just gives short term employment to a few. Kudos to Obama for sticking to his guns!

I'll make more money without it being built than I will if it gets built. So I hope it doesn't get built. But what would republicans have to bribe democrats with to get one thing they want because they are already bending over on every other issue. I don't believe for a second today's democrats are keen on compromising on anything. Immigration, didn't Harry Reid just demand a full republican surrender, and he'll get it because the republicans are a bunch of (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*). What about Obamacare, yep a lot of compromise there. It's all about what individual congressman can be bribed with and you condone the behavior. There is no hope for this country.

I quit listing to Obama lie years ago so I skipped the SOTU to watch paint dry. I guess it is refreshing he told the truth for once.

How about those Obama infrastructure jobs you bragged about, now suddenly you don't like infrastructure jobs, good paying construction jobs.

OK let's compare 52 months of full employment at a high labor participation rate when you don't have to be creating lots of new jobs because EVERYONE IS WORKING ALREADY, to Obama's lousy job creation with the worst labor participation rate in modern history, the longest sustained period of unemployment in modern history and after almost SEVEN years STILL lousy. We still have 13,000,000 people either out of work or underemployed since the recession ended almost SEVEN years ago.

    Which do you prefer?
Full employment and high labor participation so no need to create a lot of jobs

    of

High unemployment and low labor participation rate and desperately needing to create new jobs?

How absurd. What construction jobs ARE permanent? That is the nature of GOOD PAYING construction jobs, once the construction is complete that job is over. Obama's "shovel ready construction jobs" the left crowed about were exactly that, construction jobs that would end when the project is done. And THREE YEAR jobs are NOT temporary jobs, temporary jobs are short term under 12 months, most shorter than that. The key is after this construction job is over our vibrant economy has the next one waiting. Keystone would be the next job waiting for 20,000 construction workers, if we don't have those jobs for them what do you suggest we do with them?

It will benefit us, it will benefit the world market which will benefit us and it is the safest cleanest way to transport the oil.

Oh but the leftist blinded fools will never see that. I seen one here thank Obama for not passing it and saving the environment. Lol. All while this tar sand oil is probably passing right through their own back yard with a larger carbon foot print than any pipeline would have had. Leftist fools.
