Well unfortunately your assumption is only partially right. I stopped smoking dope years ago. And my son doesn't seem to care much for the Dead, but for some weird reason does sing along with several Journey songs in my wife's car.

Now, you want to confirm or deny if you have any kids? Because if you don't have any, then you really are in zero position to comment on how parents should or shouldn't feel about things like this.

And that's the way it should be. If the school thinks it's important to read a book to the K kids about a transgender's feelings/emotions, get their parents permission first and excuse those who's parents say no. But what a waste of valuable learning time while the t4acher is droning on and on about a transgender's emotions to K kids and they don't have a clue about what she's saying. That's the lib world for ya.....

K kids are very capable of learning about showing kindness to others, what bullying means and the wrongness of it, about 'good touching/bad touching' - that type of thing, but this transgender/gay stuff is an entirely different world for them and beyond their comprehension.....

Yeah, there are legit transgender people out there. From what I understand from a friend who has worked in the medical field for yrs, like a baby boy born w/more estrogen hormone than testosterone or vice versa.......

Yes I do have kids. But they don't really have anything to do with this so we should leave them out of this, something some members around here could use a lesson in. (Looking at you Sour D :chainsaw:) And I'm sorry about the Journey, he still may grow out of it. (Sorry, couldn't help myself :hippie:)

You mentioned another poster's kids in your previous post, but of course, yours should be left out.

Where else would you read a children's book? This doesn't sound like sex education but simply informing students that there are many different kinds of people in the world. Educating kids at a young age about things that parents would rather ignore would go a long way towards building tolerance and respect for each other which would do a lot to reduce bullying, in my opinion.

That's because sex education isn't any longer about combatting unplanned pregnancies and STDs, its about combatting heterosexism and gender conformity. To combat the influence of the traditional family.

"Oral sex, masturbation and orgasms need to be taught in education. The only way to combat heterosexism and gender conformity is comprehensive sex education. Gender identity expression and sexual orientation are a spectrum and those opposed to homosexuality are stuck in a binary box that religion and family create" NEA spokeswoman Diane Schneider.

Most children who express transgendered feelings, simply lose those feelings.

So a TRANSGENDER writing about her feelings & emotions should be classified as a CHILDREN'S book and read to KINDERGARTEN kids during class instead of being taught reading and writing?

Yup! That sounds about right for the liberal world.......

But of course...the generations b/f never knew how to cope and figure out how the human body works and responds in a sexual nature. Such a mystery to all those zillions of kids that life just didn't go on for them, and of course, they never married, had children.... the only critter populating the world was the 4-legged critters who just did what came naturally.......

Dr. McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital and its current Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry. Johns Hopkins, formerly the preeminent sex reassignment clinic in the world. I can read what the experts with degrees say.

I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt since you actually got me a source to read
Then I read your article. Some of my immediate concerns were the lack of a cited study backing up these claims and statistics, the cherry picked quotes from a commentary that is not even accessible and the fact that the article offers no alternative solution to any of the issues brought up in the article. Now I'm not saying there is nothing to this, Paul McHugh is certainly nobody to scoff at, but this piece of journalism does nothing to change my opinion about the given topic at hand. Sorry mate.

Also quick questions. In the article it states that 70-80% of children stop having these feelings spontaneously, which is fine of course. But what about the 20-30% that don't?

Now I'm really confused. I thought being gay, trans, whatever wasn't a choice? Haven't we all been told they're born that way?

How would I know, I'm not gay. But then again I also don't believe everything I hear. I jest of course, but seriously, if you are confused why don't you just go ask a gay person? I can't even really comprehend how one would choose who they are sexually attracted to but maybe you know something I don't. Did you decide to be attracted to something weird? DO tell, I bet you have some good stories.

They just haven't decided yet what they were born as. I bet for boys, these chemical treatments to stop puberty from occurring, helps convince them they were born as a woman.

    But since you asked,
    My opinion is:
I do not have enough information to form an educated opinion on this topic. I have done some quick research on your claims and have found no scholarly articles that back up your assertion (yet) but a couple of news articles that cite the same statistic you have put up for us, from the same article that you have supplied, from the same doctor that you referenced.
    Results: Inconclusive.

Happy now? No probably not, but I don't care. :woot:

Of course you dont. Eliminating the influences of traditional families and religion is your goal.

    25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
    26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."
    27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."....
    40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
    41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

This book summary and review states nothing about it trying to convince people to choose to be a transgender.

You seem to be looking for a line in the book that says....
"I am Jazz, I am transgender; If you like doing activities of the opposite, then you are transgender too"
And probably because you don't see that expressly written out in the book; then you assume no harm no foul.
And probably you assume that this book encourages acceptance of transgender people.

I can't stop you from having an opinion, but people who are concerned about their children's education see the following.
    1. Here is a book that introduces an incredibly complex concept to their child.
    2. Here is a book that exposes kids to sexuality and gender identity concepts that have no bearing on their educational welfare.
    3. Here is a book that opens the door for peoples children to question their own gender identity and consider life-changing decisions at an impressionable and vulnerable age
    4. Here is a book introduced to people's children behind the parent's back that offers no bearing on the curriculum
    5. Here is a book that is meant for a particular social issue that is introduced whole hog to a class of diverse composition; posing as material that should apply to all children.

This is a book written by a transgender child; which can be used as material for transgender children.
Let a guidance counsellor or psychiatrist recommend this book to a parent if they are faced with these type of issues with their children.
For Pete's sake, don't push transgender issues into a setting that it did not belong in the first place!

That's a bunch of crap! Is she talking like sports? When I was growing up, pushing my teens, I was into baseball, basketball etc. When I was 14-15, I tried football, but remember after being tackled by a male friend, I gave that up.... if mud or jello wrestling had been around, I would have tried that also and I've always enjoyed being female........

What about these guys who enjoy cooking and that's a 'woman's job'. Some of the best chefs in the world are men. When my son was 10. I introduced him to the stove and how to prepare his own meals and he cooks occasionally for his family (and so did his dad.) Believe me, there's nothing 'transgender' about my son....

Men who are ballet dancers - are they transgenders? Can you get anymore feminine than ballet? Women who've always enjoyed riding motorcycles.... I was one of them. A masculine activity, but so what?

There are many activities than males & females share and it doesn't make them transgender......

If that's what this "Jazz" believes, reading her book to little kids is an injustice to them. Kids should enjoy whatever sport/activity they want and still feel assured they are what they are - boy or girl and not be confused about it......

And you went home and were the daddy at home? Your parents taught you you were a daddy and the school supported that? A genuine human being would be totally opposed and demand the firing of these stupid teachers.
