You mean the left wing version of reality easily recognized by it's hatred for Christianity, a complete lack of understanding of the 1st Amendment, and defense of misogynists? Political labels are very powerful, they increase political fights and emotions in a society (communications) when people use them against eachother, result, an increase in chaos. Btw anti-free (political) speech can do the same as free (political) speech, both will increase chaos, because the discussions are always influenced by politics (ideology works like religion, it creates political believers)
When there is more and more chaos going on in a society, it will become more and more vulnerable.
What a society need to do to prevent from entering a new episode of history is starting to communicate less over politics and turn more in the direction of pre-political era (before the year 1900 people talked over other things, not politically/ideologically influenced) Over a century ago; compare that with the societies in the world of today (from calm to chaotic, entire world has media, phones and politics), society has become too chaotic, made itself vulnerable. So you have to turn that around before the chaos will reach absolute level one day.
And you can't quit your communications abruptly to stop chaos, because that will be like a shockwave through society, need to be a slow process, every political or social process need to go slow, but not too slow, just right to remain in a relative state of balance all the time, how chaotic it is.

Free speech is an absurdity. There are always qualifiers. Proponents will argue that speech can be free "within reason", but who gets to make that call?
