Schroeder points out that the force is actually God. There are four key properties of the “force of nature” that align with the biblical teachings of God. First, this force predates the universe, it is not physical (in other words, it is not made of physical matter), it acts on the physical and can create the physical out of nothing.

With science now accepting that the universe was created out of nothing by a physical force outside the scope of the physical, do you think there is enough evidence to support the idea that God must exist?

not he problem is not where did god come from but does god exist in the way that organized religion says, if god does not exist then god could not have come from anywhere except the imagination of man, if god does exist (or at least existed at some point) then where is the evidence to that existence?

Not quite sure what you mean by this, unless you are agreeing with me that it was man that created the basis of morals.

and that's great, but as far as I am aware you have not asserted your belief as being an absolute fact, which is what the OP has done in this topic and the other topic.

and that is your belief, mine is a little different.

I can't prove that black holes exist but based on some reports, suspect they may exist.

When you think of GOD as religion, you just come up with inaccurate commentary. I told people over and over, creation needs no particular religion.

I think the circumstantial evidence for the existence of black holes is now so strong that it would be hard not to consider them to be real objects in the universe.

I don't think of god as religion, I leave that to the theists.

"creation" needs no particular god either.

OKAY, no human has seen a Black hole.

I make the same claim about GOD.

There is "evidence" of millions of black holes.

I wager we can trust that the same evidence for black holes supports that GOD exists.

Fact is, the Earth is great evidence of GOD. But more than that, life is better evidence.

If you can believe in Black holes, certainly one can believe in GOD.

A black hole may not have been seen, we can however observe it's effects on nearby matter, which is more than can be said for God.

I've no idea which branch of Christianity you adhere to or even if it is Christianity that is your religion .. however most Christian religions believe in the trinity ie God, Jesus and the holy spirit being one and the same, so based on that there are people who have claimed to have seen god/jesus unless the accounts of the bible are wrong that is.

Given the length of time this universe has existed the pure random chance of life is not as extreme as many believe.

We, meaning we Christians, believe that when Jesus walked the Earth, he was then God's son. As the son, he had a serious talk with GOD as he was staked to the crucifixion stake or cross.

As GOD's son, of course that made him also GOD. My church tells us that at one point, all humans were with GOD and it is up to us to return to GOD.

Seeing you believe in black holes, and yet never saw one, never met a person who did see one, the least that can be done is to think of ways GOD did create all matter and life.

IT makes as much sense as does Black holes.

I am so grateful to GOD that rather than deny GOD, I look at all the evidence here on Earth and in the Universe as evidence GOD exists. Life would not start by some remote chance.

Today's thinking is life began as a single cell. Then formed into bacteria. Personally, if my ancestor was bacteria, GOD did a fine job making this all start.

Then at this point there is little left to say except we shall agree to disagree, and thank you for a reasonably discussion.

Just by quoting the Biblical statements there is no proof that God exists. It is just a belief system the way our ancestors believed. They believed God created the universe and even they believed in magical powers. I believe in evolutionary theories but still I believe in consciousness, not the Biblical God, or the trinity. This is totally primitive. If you want to know higher consciousness you have to read the Upanishads, or Adaita or Tao for they teach higher consciousness and what you learn from the Bible is all immature, mythological ideas. The other source that appeals to me is Buddhism.

I agree. One has to look at the preponderance of the evidence.

God created the Universe. Science is a creation of God.

All the Universe is a creation of God, as is everything within the Universe.

The scientific discovery of the past few decades have confirmed the story of creation that is contained in the Bible written 5 thousand years ago.

    Intelligent Design

Science has determined that the Universe is 13.8 billion years old.

Age may only be a number, but when it comes to the age of the universe, it's a pretty important one. According to research, the universe is approximately 13.8 billion years old. How did scientists determine how many candles to put on the universe's birthday cake? They can determine the age of the universe using two different methods: by studying the oldest objects within the universe and measuring how fast it is expanding.

Science has determined that the early stages of the Universe was void.

    Early universe
After cosmic inflation ends, the universe is filled with a quark–gluon plasma. From this point onwards the physics of the early universe is better understood, and less speculative.

Current scientific understanding of the Big Bang Theory states that the Universe was formed from a singularity.

At this time, the Big Bang, all the matter in the universe, would have been on top of itself. The density would have been infinite. It would have been what is called, a singularity.

We now know that the stars and galaxies were formed in just the order that the Bible tells us.

On July 11, 2007, using the 10-metre Keck II telescope on Mauna Kea, Richard Ellis of the California Institute of Technology at Pasadena and his team found six star forming galaxies about 13.2 billion light years away and therefore created when the universe was only 500 million years old.[31] Only about 10 of these extremely early objects are currently known.[32] More recent observations have shown these ages to be shorter than previously indicated. The most distant galaxy observed as of October 2013 has been reported to be 13.1 billion light years away.[33]

According to the Bible the formation of the Sun and the planets came next which is confirmed by science.

The Solar System began forming about 4.6 billion years ago, or about 9 billion years after the Big Bang. A fragment of a molecular cloud made mostly of hydrogen and traces of other elements began to collapse, forming a large sphere in the center which would become the Sun, as well as a surrounding disk. The surrounding accretion disk would coalesce into a multitude of smaller objects that would become planets, asteroids, and comets. The Sun is a late-generation star, and the Solar System incorporates matter created by previous generations of stars.

Just as the Bible states, the sky was created followed by the creation of the oceans.

Earth's rocky core formed first, with heavy elements colliding and binding together. Dense material sank to the center, while the lighter pieces created the crust. The planet's magnetic field probably formed around this time. Gravity captured some of the lighter elements that make up the planet's early atmosphere.

The bombardment of the Earth brought us water which created the oceans.

The Jack Hills zircon led to something of a revolution in our understanding of the Hadean eon.[15] Older references generally show that Hadean Earth had a molten surface with prominent volcanos. The name "Hadean" itself refers to the "hellish" conditions assumed on Earth for the time, from the Greek Hades. Zircon dating suggested, albeit controversially, that the Hadean surface was solid, temperate, and covered by acidic oceans. This picture derives from the presence of particular isotopic ratios that suggest the action of water-based chemistry at some time before the formation of the oldest rocks (see Cool early Earth).[16]

The first life on Earth would have been primitive plant life to evolve before complex animal life.

The Bible describes the formation of the moon, the rotation of the Earth in relation to the Sun, and the formation of the Earth and moon. Science also confirms this order of events.

Early in its evolution, Earth suffered an impact by a large body that catapulted pieces of the young planet's mantle into space. Gravity caused many of these pieces to draw together and form the moon, which took up orbit around its creator.

We now have a scientific understanding that complex life first appeared in the sea as the Bible says. The dinosaurs came next. As we know, birds are the surviving ancestors of dinosaurs.

Science confirms the Cambrian Explosion and the order in which animals appeared on the Earth, which coincides with the description of events in the Bible's story in Genesis.

Did God create man first, or last? This seems to be confirmed just as the Bible says, that man has evolved recently in the history of the Earth.

Science confirms that we were hunter gatherers, and then created agriculture, and coincidentally, this is the same order that the history of man happened according to the Bible.

Why is it that people from 5,000 years ago knew what our current scientists are just discovering?

Your first proof is a couple lines of prose from a story that is clearly not historical. Great.

You are on the right track here...

Gen 1:1 says a Big Bang beginning did happen.
Gen 1:2 says the accretion disk, a formless disk of rocks rotating the Sun, was void of global shape, which was true.
Gen 1:3-5 says the Dark Cosmic Age existed before there was any light in the Universe.
Gen 1:6-8 describes the forming of an atmosphere above and waters below.
Gen 1:9-10 describes "all the waters under heaven gathered together into one place," which was a Pangea-like truth.
Gen 1:11-13 explains that the Plant Kingdom came before the Animal Kingdom, which was true.
Gen 1:14-19 tells us that God assigned the Sun and Moon and Stars to keep time on Earth: ("made" in Hebrew means "assigned.")
Gen 1:20-31 explains about the animals diversifying into herds of mammals, and finally, man, made to image "Reality," mentally, in the form of Truth inside his mind.

Chapters 4, 5, and 10 explain the correspondences of the Genealogy with the species of Paleontology:

Here you're freely reinterpreting Genesis to try and make it agree with science, changing words around and ignoring inconvenient parts. For example:

14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.

    -----------

It clearly says that the sun was created then, not that the Earth's rotation was adjusted. In fact, the Bible always treats the Earth as stationary. You are being quite dishonest.

So you believe the medieval people did a real good job then...?

Do you believe Genesis as these nuts do,... in spite their definitions of everything are disputed by science...?

No, Genesis says the Sun was "made.
The word "created" was not used.

"Made" meant "made as a time keeper."

    Strong's Concordance
    Transliteration:`asah = made [H6213] =
made: [asah = appointed, ordained, instituted]

    `asah
    verb
    a primitive root
    1) to work, produce
    a) to act, act with effect, effect
    2) to make
    a) to attend to, put in order
    b) to appoint, ordain, institute

If one of God's /The Almighty's/ The Creator's - -(insert your own term) - - greatest gifts, our intelligence and ability to think rationally was used by true believers they'd have some insight into the mish mash of mistranslated, mis-transcribed, forged and bowdlerised pile of myth and bizarre theology that is the bible. They might then come to the conclusion to assert such a text is 'the Word of God' is to risk being blasphemous. Simple really but true believers suffer from an acute allergy to modern biblical studies which they imagine to be the work of Satan. Seriously, there is no point in entering into dialogue with these people.

The OP is suffering from full blown stage 4 cognitive dissonance.

Denying that the bible is proof and then immediately using it as proof is cognitive dissonance.

Unfortunately the treatments are reality and education and the OP is probably allergic to both.

Now after watching that I will point out my position the only reason most of you believe if G-d (I want to respect Jewish and Muslims by not using the full name of the deity) is you were raised and surrounded by it and so are Epistemologically Damaged and so need to think outside the religious box your in then you can see your faith claims are fundamentally flawed.

So arguing using the Bible to me means - nothing. What makes your book right and the Koran or Buddhist texts for example wrong? What about other religions such as the veneration of Santa Muerte who also has ample followers claiming miracles, healing and granting desires she might be this or a G-d Being?

Now do you offer any evidence other than that based on the Bible in any way?

Nobody knows what it actually says. It's a mish mash of contradictory myths and legends, not a single book and certainly the product of our species, not a deity. The staggering vanity of the human race believing they can get away with this kind of thing and imagine they can talk for and on behalf of a creator is mind boggling yet the game continues.

...the Bible's message concerns discovering the Reality for what it is,... by seeking facts/knowledge,... which reveal the Truth.
