This may be hard to grasp, but I am not a believer that nothing created something.

Earth, the stars and all we know of in the Universe are not magic. To self create out of nothing makes no sense.

    GOD created the universe.

Most atheists no doubt can't see that to suppose the universe simply self created is very silly.

While the question of who created GOD just has no reply, the universe simply did not self create.

Then you have life. Life is unique. Life is so unique that it is believed that much of the universe has no life.

Fugazi, are you a believer in the idea that nothing created the universe?

    First things first.

Do you accept that the universe exists?

I believe you believe in the universe.

Do you believe in the concept that all matter was created out of nothing?

I believe in the concept that Matter did not always exist but that GOD created it. I don't have to explain how GOD came into being to say that the theory that matter simply self creates is not how it works.

I have never ever seen anyone say the universe came from nothing except people who believe in a god of some kind.
The answer to the beginning or what occurred before the beginning as of now is, I don't know.

Since you don't know the answer as to where God came from, the same answer can be given as to what happened before the big bang.

No I am a believer in we don't know, I certainly do not believe in the god as described by Jeudo-Christian theology, or any other religion for that matter.

The belief that our universe has always existed in one form or another is as creditable as your belief in god .. in fact rather more creditable because theists can never answer the infinite regression question.

If you never read posts saying that the universe came from nothing, you have not been reading my posts.

I say GOD created matter. GOD is not a normal form of power.

GOD is not "some kind of GOD." But for GOD explain the creation of all matter and energy and life forms?

They have no way to self create.

From the Bible. God is referred to in male pronouns.

    Okay.

Revelation 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Revelation 21:6 And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.

Let's see, You believe that matter always existed. That is wild. This way you can evade GOD.

That is not proof that is the opinion of a few people who never met god/Jesus, never spoke to god/Jesus or had any interaction what so ever .. based on your requirement for the extremely low level of proof required then proof of god not existing is quotations from Richard Dawkins.

Just as you saying god exists is a way of evading that matter may have always has existed, you see unlike you I don't make absolute assertions about things that are not known, hence why I have no obligation to provide proof to my belief, where as you state, as a fact, god exists therefore you have the obligation to provide proof to that absolute assertion, which myself and many others are still waiting to see.

Yes you do. Your assertion, and feel free to correct me, is that there is no such thing as GOD.

Actually, I don't believe modern science teaches that all matter has always existed.

Don't worry that your theory does not agree with the observed science.

Were it your way, the second law of thermodynamics would be wrong.

How does one evade something that doesn't exist?
Granted we cannot evade reality but maybe you're claiming God is simply all of reality?

Well, that is only one thing. This whole thread has multiple
examples and evidence that God exists. I have yet to see
any one provide any proof to the contrary about the proof
that I have provided or they have disproved what I presented,
let alone provide any proof whatsoever that God does not exist.

You should read the whole thread. If you can prove me wrong
on each point, then that would be one thing. If you can prove
God doesn't exist, then go ahead and do it.

I think the expression means God is Reality and his son is Truth.

One is the image of the other.
And, Reality unfolds and Truth is born out of it.
This is the basis of the Trinity idea.

    - - - Updated - - -

    Yes, god is Reality.
    His son is Truth.

Your cite has numerous problems with its attempt to parrot science while claiming science is false. Whoever wrote it hasn't talked to a physicist for a long time, it would seem, and that person clearly has no interest in communicating current understanding.

However, the basic issue remains: if there are questions where science doesn't know the answer, then what science says is, "We don't know the answer." I like the honesty in that. I also like that it matches the human state, which certainly is characterized by humans not knowing the answer to a good number of questions - including some about our universe and how it works.

Pointing out that "We don't know" is not the same as claiming there is a super-being that papers over all things we don't know.

I recognize that to some, it's deeply satisfying to suggest that there is a magical being that does this, plus rescues everyone he pleases from death. But, suggesting there is ANY scientific evidence of that is clearly nonsense.

Once we understand the Reality is the almighty there doesn't seem to be any reason to prove that.

But modern Science is nevertheless doing exactly this.
The Truth is become more and more clear.
Truth is the image inside our heads which matches what is real.

But scientifically, Neil Bohr did give us the proof of his Copenhagen Interpretation.
It demands an observer existed prior to the Big Bang.
    Hence a creator.

OKAY, back to the old "science does not know" and for that has to be forgiven.

Actually, the paper is about the sanity of the argument that there is no GOD.

Do you agree with this point. Either there is GOD or there is no GOD?

You seem to take at face value the concept of no GOD.

And of course you want no part of proving your denial.

And you then bring up things, I sure did not bring up. Such as your final comment that there is a magical being that rescues people from death.

That itself is a different topic. That gets into what does GOD do. I leave that to religious talks.

To create the universe would take a GOD with awesome power. Maybe all god is, is Awesome power.

    Should we first define GOD?

Can I put clothes on GOD? No. Can I tell you GOD's mind? No. I can observe a lot in the universe though and not try to make out as if GOD is this tough person as in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Way back in the Old Testament, GOD whipped some butt. But that is not my claim, it is the claim in the OT written by Jew tribes.

I don't want or need to try to comment on such matters.

I am sticking to the known. We know the universe exists. We know life exists. It boggles the mind that these things lacked a beginning and always were. This still brings up what created such infinite conditions? No beginning to life? Is evolution false? Is Abiogenesis worth looking at?

Anyway, in my concept, the universe, being so fast moving, so full of energy, so long lasting, has to have been created. By GOD is my reply to what did that. I don't plan to explain GOD in context of any religious book known to exist.

I am asking you to divorce your thinking from religion and let's deal with the greatest creation we know of.

It seems hard for people to ignore that all life must bow down to the ever unfolding Reality.
If a species does not, it disappears in the hell hole of Extinction, never ever to reappear in Reality again.

But then, when we understand that Reality create Truth in its wake of unfolding we see a trinity wherein men can be saved by the singular spirit of truth inside their own mind.

First, I believe GOD exists. I believe Jesus is at his side, doing more tasks for GOD.

I believe that Hillary believes GOD exists since she daily calls on GOD to help her.

Scalia's son believes that GOD exists since he called on GOD to receive his father.

I realize that we do have humans who think by shunning GOD, they gain in other ways.

But over eternity, their ways may lead them to the extinguished life they accept as their truth.
