Appears things are getting serious. Why would the FBI do this if it didn't think it would interfere with its own probe? Shrillary supporters will try to make this out to be nothing but, as things heat up, it won't surprise me to see Bernie latch onto it.

After 30 years of trying to find something (ANYTHING) on HRC, this behavior has become hopelessly obsessive.

State and federal investigators have been after them for years and many of their cronies have gone to jail, some for refusing to talk, and Bill was found guilty of perjury and obstruction of justice and held in contempt of court civily and plastic bargained the criminal and of course the scathing OIC report on Hillary's shall we say less than ethical activities at the least in Whitewater, Castle Grande, Cattlegate, Filegate, Travelgate, Billing Recodsgate. Let alone Bill's abhorant abuse of women over whom he had power. Yet the left will prositiute whatever principles and ethics it may have once had and bow at their feet and worship them.

BTW this has now moved into similar ground as when OIC head Ken Starr went to Judge Wright and asked her to halt the Jones v Clinton Sexual Harassment/Assault lawsuit because they had caught Clinton in multiple felonies and did not want that case to interfere with there investigation and charges.

The FBI asked the US State Department to stop investigating Hillary Clinton's emails

WASHINGTON (Reuters) — The U.S. State Department has suspended an internal review of whether classified information was properly handled in former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's emails at the request of the FBI, a spokeswoman said on Friday.

Clinton, the front-runner in the race for the Democratic Party nomination in the Nov. 8 presidential election, has apologized for using a private email server for official business while in office from 2009 to 2013 and said she did nothing wrong. The FBI is investigating the arrangement.

On Jan. 29, the State Department said 22 emails sent or received by Clinton had been upgraded to top secret at U.S. intelligence agency's request and would not be made public as part of the release of thousands of Clinton's emails. It said that none of the emails was marked classified when sent.

At the time, the department also said it would conduct an internal review on whether the information in the emails was classified at the time it passed through Clinton's private clintonemail.com account run on a server in her New York home.

The department consulted the FBI about this in February, and in March the law enforcement agency asked the State Department to halt its inquiry.

"The FBI communicated to us that we should follow our standard practice, which is to put our internal review on hold while there is an ongoing law enforcement investigation," State Department spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau told reporters.

"The internal review is on hold, pending completion of the FBI's work," she added." We'll reassess next steps after the FBI's work is complete."

The government forbids handling of classified information, which may or may not be marked that way, outside secure government-controlled channels, and sometimes prosecutes people who remove it from such channels. The government classifies information as top secret if it deems a leak could cause "exceptionally grave damage" to national security.

Two judges have allowed a group suing for Clinton's records to seek sworn testimony from officials. On Tuesday, one judge said there was "evidence of government wrongdoing and bad faith" over the arrangement.

I find it astonishing. Supposedly intelligent and educated democrats completely silent falling into line like sheep instead of raising their voice and sending Clintons to the dustbin of history where they belong. Americans need to move on and get rid of political dynasties on both sides.

Do you even understand the implications of the FBI now scaling her and her staff in for "interviews" and then asking the State Dept. to stop its inquiery?

No it is not and as I just posted is VERY reminiscent of Ken Starr making a similar request when that FBI/DOJ investigation caught him red handed commuting perjury and obstruction of justice and other felonies.

Not fair. The issue was whether Hillary will be indicted. I agree with LibChik that she won't be. No matter what the FBI turns up, Obama and/or Lynch can just sit on the report until Obama is safely out of office. By that time, the election is over and if Hillary is President, would the GOP risk losing their majority forever by attempting to impeach her? Not likely. Most especially if she picks a VP who they think would be even worse, and that is a strong possibility.

And if the GOP nominee wins the election, again will the GOP risk all their political capital and good will by being seen as vindictive and mean spirited which is how an indictment would be portrayed in the media?

I am pretty sure Hillary will skate. The Clintons always have.

Sorry, but it's unlikely that a crime was committed as hair-brained as what she did may be.

 

I didn't say it WAS the GOP. Please read more carefully. The GOP has pulled back and suspended their hearings in the House and Senate at this time and are careful not to interfere with the FBI investigation in any way. But the FBI cannot indict. They will turn whatever information/evidence they collect over to the IG and/or AG who in turn will decide whether to indict or not. What do you think the odds are that the Obama DOJ won't sit on that report until Obama is safely out of office?

My comments were strictly my opinion about what the GOP would likely choose to do after the election and the new President is inaugurated.

 

He submitted a false affidavit into a federal civil rights lawsuit when being sued by a former subordinate employee for sexual harassment and assault. He suborned the perjury of another subordinate worker with whom he was having that sexual relationship testimony he was required by law and by the direct order of the presiding judge to give regarding rewards or special treatment or gifts he gage to her. That is creating a hostile workplace and supported the plaintiff's case that A: he engaged in sexual relationships with subordinate employees and B: gave those rewards and special treatment to those who granted such favors.
