That reformation will be complete when the OT is no longer part of the Holy Bible, no longer referenced by Christian pastors or priests as part of their holy book. Until then, you are as stuck with your crappy verses as the Koran is with theirs. Deal with it. Your faith is as full of revenge and violence as any other.
Very well, An analogy then. There are 100 apples in a barrel. !00 people line up and each get one. As you watch they eat their apples. Everyone who eats a red apple smiles and enjoys it. 10 people who eat a green apple double over and die. You have a green apple....do you eat it?
I don't know a single pastor that still uses the OT. BTW even though I say I am a Christian, I don't believe in the story told by the Bible (for example I believe in evolution), nor do I believe in a god. The reason I identify myself as a Christian is simply because I believe in its values, rather than its story. Moreover, Christianity is far more moral than that of Islam, or the state. Even in the most non-religious countries, there are still religious beliefs. Take North Korea for example, children are taught to believe that the current leader is their god, they are taught "Juche" or self-reliance. This is still a religion. The definition of a religion is: Under this definition, socialism, and communism is religion, even capitalism is a form of a religion. This can be easily said for any ideology or organised thought that exists out there. So the religion I follow is based on Christianity, however, I do not follow a single religion word for word as many Marxists (the Communist Manifesto could be taken as the bible for socialism and communism) and Muslims do.
Under sane conditions, I'd be the last person to advocate banning any religion, but in the case of Islam -- because of the way it commits crimes against humanity in the world TODAY, I'd ban its practice and shut down its mosques in the United States. And, in fairness, if any other religion's "true believers" treated those it regards as "Infidels" the same way that true-believing Muslims do today, as instructed to in their 'holy book', the Quran, I'd advocate banning those other religions and closing their churches, too!
There is a massive disconnect here. No offense but I was speaking of a Religion that WILL NOT ASSIMILATE. And they cannot due to the very foundation of the Religion.....
Voted other. There are different sects in Islam (different interpretations of the Quran). Make illegal those sects that advocate violence the most & then exterminate Saudi Arabia.
nothing should be done to Islam.... but we do need to try and stop Islamic Terrorists like ISIS wannabe's
The Saudis are peaceful and have been a long standing ally of the US since the mid 1930s. Currently there are 40,000 Americans living and working in the kingdom.
The 'Wahhabi Myth' Haneef James Oliver The 'Wahhabi' Myth by Haneef James Oliver clarifies many of the gross inaccuracies and outright lies that have been attributed to the belief of the Salafi Muslims (often referred to as “Wahhabis”. Although some reporters have been vigilant enough to rebut some of these widespread fables, most have fallen headfirst into what one discerning reporter called, “the neo-conservative line that the whole conspiracy against America can be traced back to Wahhabism and the government of Saudi Arabia.” https://bookmate.com/books/z6r4Dg8w
I can't in any clear conscience advocate for violating liberty on such a grand scale. Because that's essentially what you'll be doing if you start discriminating against Muslims. I'm not saying that there's not an argument here, but I just disagree with it.
None of the options work because not all Muslims are terrorists. If we want to prevent Islamic terrorism then I would say the government should continue to do what it is already doing so long as it isn't doing anything immoral to prevent terrorism.
