    Terrorism is defined by motives, not just acts. If you’re promoting killing police officers as a way to try to force political change, you’d be a terrorist. If you’re promoting killing police officers because of a misplaced sense of revenge, because you think it’ll make it easier to deal drugs or because the voices in your head like how the blood stains their uniforms, you’re not a terrorist. It’d still be very wrong, it should go without saying, just not actual terrorism.

    There is a risk of overuse of a word like terrorism in this way can serve to weaken its significance where it is legitimately used.

    I would agree. I am at a loss for why people cant figure out that they alone are responsible for their behavior. How others treat us is not a justification for treating others badly. We are each only responsible for ourselves and can only change things by changing how we behave.

    Depends on where and how its used too. Racism is a much more complex subject than terrorism. Racism can denote hatred and ignorance, or just hatred (most often born of fear), or just ignorance, and has no need for a goal. It just is.

    Terrorism is a very specific kind of strategy used for political revolution. Goals within it are varied, but without goals it's hate crime, not terrorism.

    not unusual for right wingers to attribute hate and terrorism to libs but it is clearly evident that they are merely projecting their own prejudices and hate

    BLM has advocated for it, and people have responded. BLM doesn't care if the cop killers are mental or not as long as the objective is met. The guy in Dallas mentioned BLM and the New Black Panthers. Their icon is a cop killer. Yes, BLM is a terrorist group.

    Did he fire? Was he targeting "Black" cops only? I don't recall hearing about people coming out to call him "hero" or "martyr". I certainly don't think he deserves those titles. Where were the MASS protests across the nation in support of the Bundys? Where is the "Ranchers Lives Matter" movement?

    Yeah, foolish for that guy to be pointing that weapon at anybody, but also foolish to use that one guy, who did not pull a trigger, as any type of comparison to BLM and their violent rhetoric and actions. There was NO support for the Bundys along racial lines, were there?

    He didn't...although he was certainly TARGETING them.

    However two other attendees left that protest...went to Vegas...and assassinated two Vegas cops in a pizza parlor.
