One of the firearms is an evil 'assault weapon'. One is an actual 'weapon of war', used to shoot Germans Japanese, Chinese and Koreans.
Please post a Range Report, pics of targets, guns, if you can....... I wish you success at the Range !
Have fun.you might want to consider a Remington 1858 cap and ball, they are a blast to shoot and easier on the wallet. sadly some indoor ranges don't like black powder for all the smoke they belch.
No. The M1 Garand is a battle rifle in .30-06 caliber. The SKS is a carbine chambered for a fairly anemic 7.62 x 39mm (about like a .30-30). The M1 Garand was America's battle rifle in WWII and Korea to kill Germans, Japanese, Chinese and Koreans. The SKS was used by the Soviet bloc (including China), primarily for militia use. It was used to kill Americans, South Koreans, South Vietnamese, and a lot of other U.S. allies.
That's why I asked if it was the foreign equivalent. I'm not a battle rifle expert. I was recently given an SKS. My quick research on it said that it was a precursor to the AK-47. I forgot this thinking it was the American equivalent of the AK-47.
I am a fan of the 1851 navy colt. One of the best pointing pistols ever made IMO. Wild Bill carried a pair with ivory grips panels even after the '73 in 40-40 and . .45 lc . .was available; it is an extension of the arm for me like no other pistol. The only pistol I can hit a thrown soda can in the air at 7yards virtually every time. On of the few I can shoot accurately from the hip. If you get a steel frame version you can get a Kirst konvrter and shoot 38 lc or 45 lc or scholfield cartridges depending on the caliber pistol you have...similar to the original Richardson conversions of the 1870's that were almost as popular as the '73 colts ( cheaper in those days). The Konvertrr slightly changed the balance but still has amazing pointsbility.
Soldiers training for combat don't care for the rain. Get back out there while I dine on potato chips!
I was out in an open field hunting and lightning struck a tree, the guy with me was so scared he tried to run and I had to grab him, it was a loud crack a boom and quite scary !
Depends where you live mate! 6 guns in the car, 2 loaded is obviously a symbol to you of freedom. Where i come from it would be a symbol that you live in a VERY dangerous place and would be a huge indication of a lack of freedom. That's the great thing about "Freedom", there are so many different kinds of it. Being able to legally buy a beer aged 18 = Freedom ;0)
