Hitler was what ruined them before it was a modern test of athletic prowess with largely amateurs and no one seriously cared much, it was a international sideline, then the Nazi's had their grand Olympics and the scale of the events shot up and now professional athletes compete which went against the modern spirit of the early games. How can many nations compete in ,say, Basketball when our team are almost all professionals? Or baseball? Or soccer? I want to see the best amateur athletes compete or its pointless. And I hope tomorrow they have massive demonstrations and protests in Rio from the poor who are getting shat on again wasting tons of money which could go for other far more important uses.

A bus carrying journalists between Olympic venues was hit by gunfire Tuesday night, a passenger said. Lee Michaelson of Hoopfeed.com said that two windows shattered and the broken glass left two people with minor lacerations. A statement from the Rio 2016 organizing committee said the incident took place after a media transport bus left the Youth Arena in Deodoro at 7:30 p.m. en route for Olympic Park. The organizing committee did not confirm whether rocks or gunfire was the cause of the broken windows, but Michaelson is adamant about what she heard. “I heard two shots – like a pop-pop,” said Michaelson, a retired Air Force captain and handgun owner. “I wouldn’t call myself a firearm expert, but I know the sound of gun shots. I have watched rugby and gridiron for over 55 years which makes me well qualified to discuss both sports. While rugby union & league code are fun to watch they pale in comparison to R7s. This hybrid game of R7s concludes well within a half hour period so that there is little time sent on endless commercials, needless stoppages, and kiss cam nonsense. That is what makes it seemingly more exciting than gridiron or the other two rugby codes. Still, I do get your point: R7s is very exciting. I am very glad to see that you and others have been introduced to it and can promise all of you that you have found a game of genuine FUN. NFL pro Nate Ebner said the sport is more fun than gridiron ( a sport that pays him over $2 million per year). You Tube has a channel which streams live pro rugby and I recommend that folks here watch it at their convenience. By the way, there is still another hybrid form of rugby called R10 where they play 10 a side for either 10 or 15 minutes per half. That is a great game, too.

The four swimmers — including Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger and Jimmy Feigen — were in a taxi traveling from France’s hospitality venue to the Olympic Village when the incident occurred, the USOC said. “We got pulled over, in the taxi, and these guys came out with a badge, a police badge, no lights, no nothing just a police badge and they pulled us over,” Lochte told NBC Sports in an interview. “They pulled out their guns, they told the other swimmers to get down on the ground — they got down on the ground. I refused, I was like we didn't do anything wrong, so — I'm not getting down on the ground. “And then the guy pulled out his gun, he cocked it, put it to my forehead and he said, 'Get down,' and I put my hands up, I was like 'whatever.'
