The writers of the Bible are not contemporary sources. None of the Gospels were written until decades after Jesus supposedly died and none of them were written by the Apostles.

The reason why there are atheist and deniers is to strengthen and to confirm that God is real with out atheist God will not need to reveal Himself to us.

It is more than just taking their words for it that was why God had to send His angel to clearly convince Mary that it is true and thanks to writers especially the Bible we can now confirm the historical facts that God is real.

Without atheist God would not need to reveal Himself to us.

    People will believe anything including denying the holocaust did happened and this include exploiting Christ for their own agenda and this is why Jesus reprimanded the Pharisees for corrupting the Torah and introducing their own traditions. This goes back to Eisenhower's great quote;
“Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses -because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened.”

    Faith becomes a reality after it was supported by truth that is why Jesus told Thomas;
Thomas replied, “My Lord and my God!” , Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

I'm not interested in how you justify their existence. What I'm saying is that if you could present conclusive evidence that there is a god. There wouldn't be atheists.

[QUOTEPIt is more than just taking their words for it that was why God had to send His angel to clearly convince Mary that it is true and thanks to writers especially the Bible we can now confirm the historical facts that God is real.[/QUOTE]You are still taking the biblical account totally on faith. When you think about the bible logically it's preposterous.

If God revealed himself to us there would be no atheists, Hinduism, Buddhists, differing Christians or christians at all. There would just be the fact and no contest against it.

That is different. There are people living right now that personally witnessed the Holocaust and were affected by it. Even after they all die we have photograps and multiple sorces to cross check. None of that exists for Christ. All we have is 4 books on a collection of poetry, fairytales and magical stories. There is no cross reference, no photographs and no witnesses.

You have to trust the bible at least some what to even begin to suggest Jesus was anything but an ordinary man.

    The bible isn't proof.

Conclusive evidence that God exist has been presented through historical records and events, events and records that atheist are trying so hard to deny.

We are not taking the Biblical accounts base on faith alone but both on faith and facts. To deny the factual and logical evidences as presented by the Bible the Bible that has been use as the blueprint to discover ancient past is preposterous, just like how deniers of the holocaust are preposterous. .

There will always be deniers just like there are still Americans that believe President Obama was not born in the USA or that he is a Muslim or that the holocaust never happened. With out atheist we will never know God, atheist made us believe they are wrong.

And in spite of the witnesses, survivors and victims of the holocaust there are still substantial number of people that deny it ever happened in spite of the films, photographs and records if it can happened in a 20th century it can happen much worse in the 1st century.

Without the resurrection Jesus would just be another man another prophet.

Without the Bible we will never have known the historical truth about God.

WanRen doesn't do evidence. He merely asserts.

Evidences such Jesus of Nazareth his teachings, his miracles, his persecution, trial, execution but most of all his Resurrection and the people that had first hand relationship with him their lives would for ever change from doubters to over overwhelmingly fearless believers and the over whelming artifacts, and historical events that will continue on to this day supported by science and philosophy that there is no doubt that the greatest evidence of God's existence is this universe, all its creatures and most of all us the human beings.

Deniers have been asserting since Christ revealed himself to us their man made claims and for the past thousands of years they have not been successful in asserting their false histories and claims that God does not exist that is why up to this day they continue aggressively politically, culturally, socially and militantly asserting their denials with no success. They turn to the Bible and all other Biblical records to twist what is written to assert their false claims that there is no God and reason they turn to the Bible and all Biblical text and records is because there exist no atheist records that there is no God.

Faith is just one part of it, witnessing and actual happenings through events and science is the other part that is why people believe.
It is your faith that makes you believe that Jesus is not real or that there exist no historicity with his miracles, trial and resurrection or that God does not exist without any supported evidences just your faith that it all did not happened and not real.

    - - - Updated - - -

Fools and trolls has always been with humanity, that is why God decided to educate us and thanks to that, the number of fools and trolls have reduced.

    It's everything.
Or why they stop believing. Depending on your level of faith.
No, it's not faith to not believe somebody was magical.

Btw I am a Christian, I believe Jesus is God.

It doesn't require faith not to believe in something.

Faith is just part of it it is the driving force to discover reality.
Cessation to belief is because of lack of proof, lack of proof diminishes faith.
Faith in magic is knowing it is magic.
Good that you believe in Jesus Christ then you should also accept Jesus historicity and reality.
With out faith and proof is plain assertion with out basis.

Even with your faith it is mere assertion. As to proof, you have yet to provide any, other than more mere assertions. This is why you have been given the nickname "Mr. Mere Assertion".

My faith is cemented because it is backed by historical evidences that Jesus Christ is real and God is real.
All evidences have been provided from the Bible, Tacitus, Josephus and today's scholars and science have backed and confirm the historicity of Jesus Christ is the main reason why Christianity continues to grow while atheist lack of evidences and faith has failed that is why there exist no nicknames they are just plain atheist, deniers or anti God, anti logic, anti common sense, anti science anti history.

    Mr. Mere Assertion speaks.

Keep it up, though. It's indoctrinated theists like you who demonstrate the shallowness and emptiness of your particular religion. Good job.

It's absurb that you base everything on stuff created by unknown people who are most likely fictional. You might as well believe in Jack and the Bean Stalk.

I'm inclined to believe that Jesus Christ was based on a real person or perhaps more than one. I also think this person became in the Gospel stories embedded in a set of pre-existing myths. Among these myths was the Virgin Birth, walking on water and the Resurrection. I do think he saw himself fulfilling OT prophecies, particularly as the coming Messiah. I also think he taught the reciprocity principle ie. "Do unto others ......" because variations on it show up so persistently in the Gospel story. In fact I think that is at the heart of his appeal. Of course Christ has been hijacked so repeatedly one can understand why Nietzsche made the judgement that "The last Christian died on the cross" or the oft repeated warning "The Devil can quote scripture" and often does base on the evidence.

A final thought, Christians seem to have a problem dealing with what were among the last words of Jesus on the Cross ie "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?" I mean how often do you hear references to it in sermons? My guess is if that cry out is historically true that he died in a condition of doubt.

The alleged last words change depending on which Gospel you read. Same with the what God allegedly said at the John the Baptist baptism of Jesus.

Learn to read the Bible horizontally instead of vertically. That is, compare the similar stories side by side instead of reading the Bible straight through. You'll see the contradictions, edits and changes easier that way.

OK, but they're not primary sources, that is, they're not actual records of the thing itself. Similarly, the NT is not a primary recording, it's a story told about the thing writtten after the thing happened. A primary source of the trial would be the actual record kept of the trial by whatever the Romans had for a trial recorder, see the difference?.

And, as I KEEP saying, It doesn't matter, We have NO primary sources for King Arthur, frex, but most scholars do think he, or someone very like him, really existed sometime close to the time that's said. There probably wasn't a Camelot but there well could have been something like the Battle of Mt. Baden, though nobody knows where.

The Battle of the Teutoborg Forest is one of the 10 most important events in World History. Most scholars date the long decline of the Roman Empire from it's date in 9 CE.. Every historian of the era is thoroughly familiar with it and its incredibly far-reaching effects have been known and intensively studied for 2 millenia.

They discovered where it actually took place in 1987

The whole question is sort of like the scholar who spent his whole life concluding that the Iliad and Odyssey weren't written by Homer but by another blind poet of the same name.

You're not reading me very well. I'm not alleging that those words were in fact spoken but since they are at least referenced by some and might be true I drew a particular meaning. Your response was complete apples and oranges or shall we say charging a windmill. Show me where I said all the Gospels were consistent.

Deniers lack assertion, facts and credibility that is why they have nothing to present except their personal denial on everything. And worse of all continuing the century old persecuting Christians.
