It's also hard to get in a car wreck when you don't live around cars.

By banning guns? No. I personally know AT LEAST 3 people who are alive today that wouldn't be if they hadn't been armed. Only one of them even had to pull the trigger.

Germany has lots of guns, I don't know what you're talking about. So does Switzerland.

What don't you understand about one simple fact: violent people are violent when given guns, non-violent people are non-violent when given guns.

It's not the gun that causes violence, it's the culture of a country.

Mexico has great gun control. How's that workin out?

Japan has a very different culture than we do. Japanese Americans are actually less likely to kill people in America than Japanese citizens are in Japan. Send our Hispanic and black gangs over to Japan, see what happens to the crime stats.

Mexico doesn't allow guns either, how is their crime rate?

Wrong and way wrong as europe is not a country many different nations have many different laws and rates of gun ownership and rates of death or murder.

In addition many of them are simply inferior nations with nothing to emulate.

Apples and oranges fact you are using a false equivalence.

You're suggesting that guns are so much more prevalent and easy to get in towns an hour away? Why, then, are towns an hour away from Chicago so much safer and less violent?

Finland has more per capita gun ownership than the US and less crime. Including less murder by gun

So much for your idiotic comparisons

Not anymore. If you listen quietly, you can hear the murder rate going up from Australia.

So it's not the guns then is what you're saying.

    No one should have guns. There is a line in Tao Te Ching that goes;

    The sharper men's weapons,
The more trouble in the land.

Well to go along with your totalitarian dreams, when do we start the castrations? That would cut down significantly on rape.

    From the FBI's UCR database:
There IS less violent crime (it has been dropping like that for decades), and there are more guns than ever.

Do you really want to compare Finlands gun laws to ours? I would be HAPPY to.

The ownership and use of firearms is regulated by the Firearms Act of 1998. A license is always needed for possession of a firearm and all firearms are registered. Firearms may only be carried while they are being used for a specific purpose (e.g. hunting, shooting at the range). When transporting a firearm to or from such activity, the firearm must be unloaded and stored in a case or pouch. The owner of a firearm is responsible for making sure that firearms and ammunition do not end up in unauthorized hands. The exact requirements regarding storage of firearms depends on their type and quantity.
In the 80s and 90s roughly 7% of firearm licenses were granted for the purpose of personal protection. Since 1998 new licences have not been granted on that basis, although existing permits remain valid.[24] It is still possible to obtain a licence for pepper spray for the purpose of self-defense if a concrete threat exists. Carrying a firearm licensed for hunting or sporting use outside of that specific activity is not allowed.
Legislation was revised in 2011 and now pistol licenses can only be issued following a two-year period of documented, active pistol shooting hobby, and only to persons 20 years old or older.[28]

You need to wait TWO YEARS for that Glock son. LOL

    We are simply smarter.

We treat it as a basic right which has always been protected b law and that is as it should be.

Either way they have more and less murder as a result

More proof of false equivalence by you

    - - - Updated - - -

reams of evidence in your face proving it.

Either your simply being sarcastic or you ignore reality and facts

Every one that I have ever known that was shot by a gun was shot at their house or the house of a friend and the shooting was either accidental or in one case a murder/suicide. I have never owned a gun. But then I don't go through life scared of the bogeyman.

Stop the lies I never said that.

Your dishonest attempt to move the goal post is noted but you were proven to be stupidly wrong as you always are

    - - - Updated - - -

Neither do most gun owners and personal anecdotes are meaningless
