Obama's taken a "Parthian shot" at the notion of accountable governance. He rode out the door, his legacy concerns trumping the empty pledges of accountability and transparency.
The adoring crowd will turn their heads to these facts, for to notice and become aware is to also come to grips with having been deceived. That is a most uncomfortable exercise for the Obama supporter.
Do Obama backers feel betrayed by his pledge to be" the most transparent administration in history"? Not likely. Do they remember? Same answer.

The Associated Press reports:

WASHINGTON (AP) – The Obama administration in its final year in office spent a record $36.2 million on legal costs defending its refusal to turn over federal records under the Freedom of Information Act, according to an Associated Press analysis of new U.S. data that also showed poor performance in other categories measuring transparency in government.
For a second consecutive year, the Obama administration set a record for times federal employees told citizens, journalists and others that despite searching they couldn't find a single page of files that were requested.
And it set records for outright denial of access to files, refusing to quickly consider requests described as especially newsworthy, and forcing people to pay for records who had asked the government to waive search and copy fees. ...
The figures reflect the final struggles of the Obama administration during the 2016 election to meet President Barack Obama's pledge that it was "the most transparent administration in history," despite wide recognition of serious problems coping with requests under the information law. It received a record 788,769 requests for files last year and spent a record $478 million answering them and employed 4,263 full-time FOIA employees across more than 100 federal departments and agencies. That was higher by 142 such employees the previous year. ...
Under the records law, citizens and foreigners can compel the U.S. government to turn over copies of federal records for zero or little cost. Anyone who seeks information through the law is generally supposed to get it unless disclosure would hurt national security, violate personal privacy or expose business secrets or confidential decision-making in certain areas.​

As to the final AP paragraph, apparently not. Transparency pledges get you elected. Transparency performance goes unnoticed by the sycophants.

The Democrats rely on the gullible. Obama knows that and uses shiny objects to mesmerize them along with the language used by a snake oil salesman. Obama and his cabal used National Security as their hidey-hole for anything his administration unlawfully performed and the Justice Department to further illegal actions and increase narcotics in the U.S. deviousness, deception and derisiveness were their weapons from the beginning. Being transparent was a lie they fed to the people.
The Progressive Socialist Left has from the start tried to block the truth. From Fast and Furious to this last criminal act with his ideological partners in the DOJ and intelligence community. Using his pen and his phone to skirt the Constitution while lambasting the Right attempts to reveal the truth, Obama used "Executive Privilege" to hide the truth from the People.

At his current pace, Trump will probably run up a travel bill (at taxpayer expense) of over $100 million this year.

Where is all of the outrage from Trump's "sycophants" over Trump's outrageous travel expenses?

You are obviously wrong in your assumption. The article you refer to was written in the Hill.com. My OP-Ed was written by a different author and posted in a different website, American Thinker. Try again Andy.

 

To tell the truth this is one area I really can't fault Trump on all that much. Trump is transparently nerts, he really doesn't try to hide what a dictator he wants to be, how dishonest he is about most everything, what an idiot he is and ,as I said just what a completely incompetent and downright dangerous man he is turning out to be

 

I'd just like to add that I think Trump's sycophants are probably as dangerous to the Republic as he is himself!

I don't so much mind them wanting a dictator...as I do them wanting a dictator of such poor quality as Donald Trump!

I'd prefer one with more brains than Donald Trump...if we have to have one.

Personally, I don't want one, but the pathetic American conservatives seem intent on giving us one. My objection, for those who know how to read, is in their selection for a dictator.

My oh my, What's a guy got to do to prove he's got brains. Before Trump became president, he was already a multi-millionaire, beat Hillary and the machine behind her and already put the nation on the right foot, improved the economy and got the Progressive Left bewildered, demoralized and urinating on themselves.

 

I have no was of knowing whether "Obama sycophants" are supposed to be comprised of the 59% of Americans who approved of the job he had done when he completed his second term, but many were critical of the lack of the promised transparency in his administration.

As I recall, back in his era, he did not even, not even once, selectively leak a cherry-picked snippet of a vintage tax return - although he did, whether he had repeatedly promise to do so, come clean with years of returns before he was first elected, so it would have been redundant.

 

So you think Donald Trump is brainy...because he made lots of money and beat an unpopular candidate.

You must think he has class also because he lives in a glitzy penthouse.
