I'm the comfortable position as German to be total neutral here with no "personal history" of German crimes against Jews due to fact that parts of my forefathers were in same concentration camps as prisoners as the Jews, because 1 grandfather fought in French Foreign Legion against Germany and the other was sentenced to prison battalion after he made a bad Adolf Hitler joke.

Out of this I can free criticize Israel about the things they do and I do it often and much. The complete settlement policy of them is only a crime!
Anyone who defends Israel at all costs shall think a moment about following case:
You are farmer and land owner in your country. One morning you wake up and there is an "overnight" settlement" build by other people on your land and you have no chance by legal actions to kick off these people from your land, because they are backed by their government. More as that, if you go to close to this settlement on your own land, it could be that you are shot by them! Right this happens in Israel every week!

On the other hand, it is endless discussion who earns the country at least, because both sides claim to have historical rights. It is always a problem when someone backs his demands with historical rights in matter of "this region was "xyz" centuries ago my land.
But that Israel was in the past Jewish land is un-disputable.

The Arabs complain again and again that this is their land and state. But really? No! The complete region was until end of WW-1 part of Ottoman Empire, a region in it. After WW-1 it was British and no independent state. So the UN decided after WW-2 that a part of this British controlled territory should become a Jewish state = Israel ... and the other part an Arabic State = Jordan.
We all know that all Arabs directly attacked Israel and failed to throw the Jewish back into the Sea. So sorry to say, but even if the Arabs start with reasoning of "illegal immigrants from Europe who raised Jewish population" and all the riots and issues happened, it is unimportant! The Arabs did not exist as state before as did not Israel too. The Arabs started the war because not accepting Israel and lost. They started further wars and failed ... and lost area to Israel.
No one would be in trouble if they started to accept Israel in the beginning instead wanting to throw them back into the sea.
