Neil Gorsuch strikes me as that sort of dude who still believes Planned Parenthood still sells baby parts.

 

America should care how she is perceived in the rest of the world if we want strong foreign relations.

Let's think about that for a moment. Looking at the Bench and their ages, by the end of Trump's second term, the Conservatives could have a solid 6-3 majority on the court.

What if right-leaning jurists listened to their critics on the left, and adopted a “living Constitution” approach instead of relying on what the Framers understood the text to mean?

Why you really prefer a nonoriginalist ‘living constitutionalist’ conservative judge or justice who can bend the meaning of the text to make it evolve to conform to conservative political principles and ends like the Lefty judges do?

Let's consider a conservative justice who sees the Constitution as a “living breathing organism” that must be kept in tune with the needs of the day deciding that the New Deal Court’s decisions were mistakes that violate the Constitution, and must now be rolled back?

And look at the “one man, one vote” rule for state legislative apportionment that came out of the Warren court where states — unlike the federal government under the U.S. Constitution — were no longer allowed to have a house of their legislature apportioned by geography rather than population. Now many rural states, like California and Illinois, which is red almost everywhere but in the metropolitan areas, are totally dominated by the large populations of urban centers. Those states are also governed badly and suffer from considerable degrees of corruption and enormous debt. So our experience turns out to show that the “one man one vote” approach was wrong, and that there was wisdom after all in the Framers’ approach of not apportioning everything according to population. A “living Constitution” changes with the times!

Now Judge Gorsuch appears to be devoted to interpreting the Constitution as it was understood by the Framers and does not to embrace a living Constitution, but maybe you can talk him into it!

Joe Biden is mostly responsible for what all has taken place.

When I was a kid and teen and then adult, these petty bickering was not how the congress worked.

Biden chose to ruin Judge Bork. Bork mind you was an outstanding legal mind. A better justice for the Supreme Court never could be found. Then Biden "Borked" him.

From then on, republicans have lived with anger.

And I doubt German girls are forbidden to leave the house. Last I checked, I believe it was Catholicism or Christianity that was the top religion in Deutschland.
