Particularly since it was headline news 2 months ago and we even discussed it on this forum. Can't really claim something that we published in every newspaper and presented on every television network - including due to public statements issued by the Department of Homeland Security qualified as a national security secret. This is just how absurd the Democratic Party and their minions have become in their hyperventilating panic-attack hysteria.

It's something presidents have the right to do

Maybe you can help. Can you point to the part of the 25th where it talks about Congress appointing a commission to assess the president's mental capacity? My bet is.......

What if Loretta Lynch says she wrote in her journal that Bill asked if she could "ease up" on his wife?

It does not have to be Congress that appoints the panel to review the mental capacity of the president.

St Reagan's own staff did that to him when his competence was questioned in 1987.

But you said "congress" and that's what I said was totally incorrect. To be picky your words, "It does not have to be Congress that appoints the panel........" should read: It cannot be Congress that appoints the panel.........
Though congress does play a direct role somewhere down the process.

I think the president can function just fine while Foreign nations continue to book rooms in his hotels. Paying for a Hotel isn't an emolument.

Democrats have been very clear: Perjury and obstruction do not rise to the level of an impeachable offense.
Why would they change their minds on this?

    1998.
It -was- in defense of a Democrat, so there's a real question if they actually meant it.
    They -did- say it, however.

Then I guess we can charge Bill with obstruction of Justice, does that mean that Trump is innocent? Oh, and the fact that Comey worked for Trump at the time of the alleged request while Clinton has been out of government for going on 20 years might be of interest. Your boss "suggesting" you get last weeks work done is not quite the same as a buddy asking you to help him move

The same Democrats are in Congress now? And in Trump's case the obstruction involves cheating his own election and espionage in furtherance of same. Nixon did far less than that, was a competent President, and had been elected by a historically large majority, yet he was certain enough of removal by a bipartisan Congress that he resigned

This question never surfaces when Republicans are in question, so I'll have to say it doesn't matter.
Like it or not, we have determined perjury and obstruction do not rise to the level of an impeachable offense.

Why does it matter who we are talking about? Impeachment isn't a court proceeding, there are no precedents. I only bring up Watergate to show that Congresses in general view covering up the cheating of an election as an impeachable offense

Bill Clinton was being prosecuted for perjury involving testimony made before a Grand Jury which was known to be letting this confidential testimony become public, (itself a crime, I believe) He perjured himself to avoid letting his wife know he had an affair, and this became the "crime" he was being prosecuted for in fact Trump's crime involves espionage with a hostile foreign power to cheat his own election. I realize that conservatives just hate sex of any kind, illicit or not but to equate these two offenses should still be ridiculous even to them

    You asked.
Bill Clinton committed perjury, a felony.
Bill Clinton obstructed justice, a felony.
The Democrats decided that perjury and obstruction, regardless of the fact they are felonies, do not qualify as high crimes/misdemeanors, and are not impeachable offenses. I bet you agreed.
    Why would this change?
