I find it a rather interesting conundrum.

On the one hand, leaking top secret information is definitely a crime. Some leakers are motivated by political hackery or money or treason, all of which merit "throwing the book" at them.

On the other hand, in cases where the leak is motivated by patriotism and morality, its much harder to endorse throwing the book at them, although they must pay a price for their illegality. Risking one's career and freedom in doing something they think must absolutely be known to the public is a ballsy and dare I say noble thing to do.

It becomes a Trump scandal when they say it's a Trump scandal. No other justification is needed.

Now here's what the informative and intelligent Moon of Alabama wrote after trashing the Intercept:

The NSA "intelligence report" the Intercept publishes along the piece does NOT show that "Russian military intelligence executed a cyberattack". The document speaks of "cyber espionage operations" - i.e someone looked and maybe copied data but did not manipulate anything. Espionage via computer networks is something every nation in this world (and various private entities) do all the time. It is simply the collection of information. It is different from a "cyberattack" like Stuxnet which was intended to create large damage,

This is more evidence that the never ending train of leaked documents is from the radical left. I have yet to see a radical right person leak anything, is that true or is it just not talked about?

But yeah, kinda a stupid title. I am just happy that this chick will be in jail for a long time, we need to set a precedence.

Entirely predictable, she is an anti-Trump Democrat, supported the Women's March and is a supporter of the Islamic Society of North America. Just another Democrat criminal concerning national security secrets - but it appears she does not have Clinton and Democratic officials immunity from criminal prosecution.

    https://www.aol.com/article/news/20...k-documents-russia-hacking-election/22128842/

"Her motivations for leaking are not yet known. But she left a lot information about herself online. She was active on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for years and shared her anti-Trump and other political sentiments on the platforms. Winner, who uses the name Sara Winners on her Twitter account, had been active on the site up until the end of February. She often tweeted anti-Trump messages. She follows only 50 people on Twitter, including Edward Snowden, WikiLeaks, and Anonymous."

We have plenty of precedence. We need to execute every whistleblower who exposes US government crimes against the Constitution and humanity to make sure no whistleblower ever comes forward again. Right?

Patriots don't leak, they're whistleblowers with protection, her leak was politically motivated any way you look at it. Espionage against your own country isn't noble.

You seem to know a lot about stupid and a lot about bitches not to mention being able to smell out radical leftists and trump haters. Unsurprisingly similar traits to that ol' hound dog my uncle used to own.

    good boy.

Yeah, just more evidence of Obamas lies.

“What I was concerned about in particular was making sure [the DNC hack] wasn’t compounded by potential hacking that could hamper vote counting, affect the actual election process itself,” Obama said. “So in early September when I saw President Putin in China, I felt that the most effective way to ensure that that didn’t happen was to talk to him directly and tell him to cut it out and there were going to be serious consequences if he didn’t. And in fact we did not see further tampering of the election process.” Obama

It's a good thing for this contractor to be penalized, we want classified information to be safeguarded, all these leaks of intelligence are harmful.

It looks like the proverbial open-and-shut case, prima facie elements plainly shown.

There's good reason to come down hard, the Administration needs to strongly discourage all this leaking.

The 25 year-old accused will appeal to the critical left which will tout calls for transperancy.

The fact her leaks relate to Russian tampering efforts will cause the lefties to suggest Trump is trying to coverup.

Obama prosecuted 6 leakers. Somehow leakers under Trump is a Trump scandal. Liberal logic 101.

Because she leaked top secret information for personal political reasons. this goes against everything a person who has a top secret clearance should do. She should have the book thrown at her, maximum jail time AND be burned at the stake...
