Intelligence contractor charged with leaking. First under Trump.

I wonder whether the Trump Administration will push for the maximum sentence (to make her an example and discourage all this leakage), or let her cop a plea for minimum time (so we don't get into the nature of what she leaked).

 

She can share a cell with Comey for starters!

 

She knew what she was doing was against the law.

There is nothing noble about doing something that you promised not to do when you accepted the job.

 

No excuses, this is the news we'd been waiting for. You'd be as pissed if someone was a mole inside the M15. Just as British security is important for the British, US Security is important for us.

 

Ah, YEAH it is noble. She OBVIOUSLY was motivated to leak a rather DEVASTATING report simply to "hurt" trump. The thought of alerting "THE PEOPLE" to exactly WTF was going on never came up in her decision making process.

 

There's no patriotic or moral exception for the disclosure of classified information, it would be too subjective for a judge to determine whether the leaker was reasonably motivated by morality or patriotism.

In this case we have a deluded lefty who has bought the excited liberal message that Trump is such a calamity the nation and the whole world is in grave danger unless he is removed. This fool said she wanted to burn down the White House! I think the insanity defence might help her.

 

We don't know what her motivation was.It could have been financial, or narcissistic, or some social pressure from a boyfriend or whatever.

Its a mistake to assume.

How does this hurt Trump? Obama was the only one making claims that he had stopped the Russian meddling into our election by telling Putin to "cut it out". Only thing this leak does is show that Obama was a liar.

There is a difference between a whistle-blower and a leaker. Leakers typically have partisan political, or personal vendetta motives. Whistle-blowers call attention to wholesale wrongdoing. Snowden was a whistle-blower. Winner is a leaker.

First Obama didn't make claims about stopping the russians by telling them to cut it out. He instituted further sanctions. He had all agencies DOCUMENT and CATALOGUE all evidence collected so far. He took seized russian property in america.

She now has BOTH the Clinton defense and Comey defense to play.

1. Clinton defense: It can not be proven that her motive was to commit a crime, even if she had done so.

2. Comey defense: She leaked the information for the purpose of trying to cause appointment of a prosecutor.

How in the word can courts agree to that yet at the same time use words from Trump on the campaign trail for the travel ban?

Not that I am necessarily for the travel ban pro's n con's IMO, but those two things right there are insanely hypocritical.

 

In her case I think the max is 10 years
