President Trump told a rally of supporters on Thursday night that he won the election not because of the Russians but because of the voters in places like West Virginia, trying to shoot down suspicion of any influence from Moscow.

“We didn’t win because of Russia,” Trump said at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington, W.Va. “We won because of you. That I can tell you.”

The president told the crowd he believes the Russia meddling probe that has hampered his administration is a “total fabrication.”

“What the prosecutors should be looking at are Hillary Clinton’s 33,000 deleted emails,” he said.

Trump handily defeated Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in West Virginia in the presidential race, winning 68 percent of the vote to Clinton’s 26 percent. He argued he defeated Clinton by simply outworking “the other side.”

“We won because millions of patriotic Americans voted to take back their country,” he said. “Have you seen any Russians in West Virginia, or Ohio, or Pennsylvania? Are there any Russians here tonight?”

He painted the Russia investigation as a plot by his opponents to delegitimize his presidency.

“They can’t beat us at the voting booths so they’re trying to cheat you out of the future and the future that you won,” Trump said. “They’re trying to cheat you out of the leadership you won, with a fake story that is demeaning to all of us.”

The rally took place just hours after fresh news broke about special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that Mueller has impaneled a grand jury, a sign the probe is heating up. Reuters also reported that grand jury subpoenas have also been issued in relation to the infamous meeting Donald Trump Jr. and other top campaign officials had with a Russian lawyer.

MUELLER REPORTEDLY IMPANELS GRAND JURY IN RUSSIA PROBE

“I just the hope the final determination is a truly honest one, which is what the millions of people who gave us our big win in November deserve,” he said in apparent reference to Mueller's probe.

During the rally, Trump also celebrated the announcement from West Virginia’s Democratic governor, Jim Justice, that he is changing parties to become a Republican. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...ly-didn-t-win-because-russia-won-because.html Trump won because the people of flyover America elected him. We overrode the wil of the bicoastal secular progressives liberal elites. Russia had nothing to do with it. The Governor of West Virginia changing to GOP is awesome!

    Trump's Right!

    Benny Arthur Johnson

I am personally triggered by Democrats bullying the West Virginia Governor for switching parties & now identifying as a Republican.

Cis-normative gender binary political parties are just an oppressive construct of a Judeo-Christian society dominated in the past by white males. This liberated politician should be encouraged for coming out & identifying with the party of his choice and not be bullied by intellectual oppressors, telling him what he can & cannot do with his body.

The argument isn't that the Russians voted - the argument is that the voters of W. Virginia were perhaps operating off misinformation supplied by the Russians (fake internet stories). What if next time the Russians decide to back Elizabeth Warren? Wouldn't you like the voters to at least be aware of the tactics used by the Russians so they can make more informed decisions?

This nutcase craves adulation. He's literally still holding election rallies, so he can feel better about his miserable situation. There won't be much adulation in Club Fed where you're bound, Donnie...You're going to be popular in the showers, and that's about it. VT3oprI.jpg

    LOL

“They’re trying to cheat you out of the leadership you won, with a fake story that is demeaning to all of us.”...that's how his supporters will see it. They would not be happy.

DO THE DEMOCRATS KNOW HOW MUCH TROUBLE THEY ARE IN?

The Democratic Party has never accepted the result of the 2016 presidential election, and Democrats in Washington are working feverishly to destroy the Trump administration. The current drama in Washington shouldn’t obscure the bigger picture: the Democratic Party is in deep trouble.

Tonight, the Governor of West Virginia will announce that he is switching parties and joining the GOP. This isn’t a big deal, since he was a registered Republican until 2015, when he decided to run for governor as a Democrat. But as of tomorrow, this is what the map of the U.S. will look like.

164 million Americans live in the 26 states that are wholly controlled by Republicans,
109 million live in states where power is shared between the parties,
and only 50 million will live in the six states controlled by the Democrats.

Those who run the Democrat Party spend their time overwhelmingly in Washington, California and New York, and they read the New York Times and the Washington Post. They watch CNN and MSNBC, along with network news. As a result, I am not sure they are fully attuned to how unpopular their party has become in most of America. Very few voters are responding to the Democrats’ daily assault on the administration by saying: "In the next election I am going to change my mind and vote liberal!" On the contrary, it may be that the Democrats’ hysterical, unprecedented assault on the president will prove to be a distraction that actually retards their ability to address their party’s long-term decline.

I wasn't specific because the investigation is on-going. If I tried to be specific, then I WOULD be spreading misinformation - that's how it works.
It is why I said "perhaps".

Funny really, the GOP are swamp infested. It is noted they forced Trump to do something he didn't want, and Trumpies predictably blamed it on.....the Democrats?? LOL.

    Here for you to see:

We'll find out soon enough, won't we?

What you are in favor of (without admitting it) is a Joseph Stalin tactic of "show me the man, and I'll show you the crime".

FBI investigations look for criminal conduct, which is supported by criminal statutes that have allegedly been violated.

Tell me, what are those statues?

Do we ignore the CIA, FBI and Defense Dept. when they say they feel there is possibility of foreign attempts to influence elections? That's what you are arguing for. It's like saying a missing woman's disappearance shouldn't be investigated because the body hasn't been found yet.

Perhaps. Watergate started that way. Iran-Contra started that way. Whitewater started that way and ended with Monica Lewinsky. I expect this might just end with money laundering for Russian government officials - but we'll see.

If the republicans don't get their **** together they're going to lose big. They could start by crafting health insurance in the open instead of behind closed doors then watching it go down in flames.

How about immigration or anything else for that matter? If they don't get rolling they're going down and they won't be able to blame the Russians.

That's right, because of voters like those in West Virginia who fell for Russia's propaganda machine that convinced people (1) that Hillary was a criminal, and (2) Trump is more than just a dishonest, self-serving blowhard. So far both of these have been proven untrue because (1) Hillary is not in prison or even under investigation, and (2) well, just look at him... Trump hasn't had a single honest, non-self-promoting, non-boastful day in office.

It's no us becoming the rump regional party. Now the GOP elitists could be cruising for an ass kicking at the hands of the GOP base, you may have a point there.

Why do some conservative present every Clinton tale as the absolute truth? Political expediency. But the CIA and the FBI think there is some basis for investigation - and that is what matters - not the liberals wanting blood.
