Yeah, and I've forgotten more than you know as well.

Perhaps you have forgotten more than you should still know as well.

Amazon, as well as several other companies, would probably still hire you with those lacking type of skills you have.

It still will be noted as the competency of new hires in this day-and-age are somewhat lacking.

    Do tell...

Yea I guess these people just need perspective on what real job stress is.

Stocking shelves, no matter how demanding the system, could never compare to running into burning buildings, protecting society from violent criminals, military operations, crewing a fishing vessel, managing air traffic, and any other the other truly stressful jobs.

I'm not saying that only those types of jobs can be the cause of stress but breaking down and crying over having to put Doritos on the shelf is kinda sad.

Or maybe they could organize a protest and find some way to make it about Trump. :)

Look guys, I'm off the clock here - don't make me put on my teacher hat and start treating everyone's posts as if they were term papers.

One of these days, I'm gonna ask management here to make me a grammar mod. Now get off my lawn.

Thats why I feel like people should take a walk in other folks shoes every once and awhile, or at least just see what others do for a living and what it entails. It gives a new found respect for others and often makes you realize that your life may not be quite as bad as you personally think it is.

I'm not saying that nobody should ever complain, life in general is hard regardless of what you do but still an outside perspective can be healthy for many folks. Helps with that whole "stress is relative" thing a little bit.

"Stress: In a medical or biological context stress is a physical, mental, or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension. Stresses can be external (from the environment, psychological, or social situations) or internal (illness, or from a medical procedure)." https://www.google.com.au/search?q=stress+definition&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-au&client=safari
If you have a boss breathing down your neck to monitor your productivity, this can be stressful and makes the work unpleasant.
The dangerous stressful jobs you listed may be carried out by people who enjoy the stress. Doing a task which requires bravery and heroism is stressful in a different way.

I don't think you would cut it in the Amazon environment. You wouldn't be able to cut it in a real hands on job either.

Unions will never find a place at an Amazon facility.

It's been tried before at one facility and everyone lost their job.

Jeffy just closed the place and distributed all the inventory to other facilities.

The place later reopened with new employees minus the union thugs.

That cost him a pile of money but was cheaper in the long run.

One specific reason I've had actual experience with is that potatoes are cheap while being the very definition of "empty calories". It's a particular problem among Native Nations people

If enough facilities vote to unionize, Amazon will not be able to close them. furthermore it is against the law to close a facility to specifically avoid unionization. The company goons will have to realize that eventually the will of the workers will win over their scare tactics.

Well, perhaps they were snowflakes? Regardless of political affiliation. But I think it had something to do with an on shelf ordering system. If not changed it just involves scanning and perhaps punching in the quantity you need to fill the shelf back up. Must not keep backstock on some of these items. So, making sure you do not miss ordering to restock the product on the shelf, as not to be out of stock, might be the stressful part. LOL But any person who has to order sees this stress. Good grief!! Stress is a part of life for most people. And not just job stress. And it varies from person to person, the degree. I just never was stressed out enough to see it as a problem I guess. I always stressed out more when my two daughters were dating long ago. I worried they would get attached to some drug using bum, a bad boy. Thank god both married high character, hard working men who were very responsible men. I thank god almost everyday for this. So that was what I stressed out over long ago. For unlike in a job, I had no control over whom they fell in love with.

Or a cop whose traffic stop has just opened up on him, a construction worker on the fourth story whose scaffold has just broken and a plumber replacing a certain type of defective septic tank. Any job can be the most dangerous there is if you're cherry picking perilous incidents.

Someone (I think it was Bill Maher) had a statistical analysis which said that soldiering is about number 10 on the list of dangerous jobs I think the top was Bering Sea crab fisherman, and hence the Deadliest Catch. Soldiering has been characterized as "Hours and hours of total boredom punctuated by moments of utter terror", and I think that's about right.
