More people died from hands and feet than by rifles of any kind. And if what you're saying is true then why does the police have semi auto pistols?

 

About the same amount of people were injured by a truck in France.

Yup. The mass school shooter comes to terrorize and kill, not to bring serenity.

 

In fact it's VERY hard to own and even harder to conceal carry...a hand gun in Switzerland.

The military brings home their guns but no ammo...which is also carefully restricted.

Let's not make any hasty conclusions here, Ronstar ! Of course, even the gun nuts themselves admit "It's the person who kills ... not the gun".

 

It has much more to with the size of their libido & inferiority complex and much less to do with their sanity.

 

Without guns in the streets, the vast majority of American citizens will enjoy the freedom from bang-bang much more than they do now. But if the absence of guns frightens some people into locking themselves away inside of "govt assigned housing" then I guess they are free to do that too.

 

Mass shootings are actually pretty uncommon. Over the last five decades the average annual number of deaths from them is just a bit over 20. Meaning that about as many Americans are killed in mass shootings as there are Americans killed by cows. Even in more recent years, where we have had some more deadly mass shootings, bees/wasps kill far more Americans annually.

So why does it SEEM so much worse now? Well its simple: special interests have much to gain be making it seem far worse than it is. The media plays it up because it draws viewers (and so generates ad revenue). Politicians will play it up, because "everything is fine, we're safer each year" doesn't get voters to the polls. And gun control lobbies are happy to play on these misperceptions and fear monger, because it'll help them achieve their agenda.

Could just as easily point out that the deadliest such public attack wasn't in the US, it was in Europe with a truck.

 

You are ignoring the fact that over "the last five decades" - that's 50 years in real talk - the number of guns has increased enormously, so maybe you should compare the yipee-kai-yay mass shootings of 1967 with those of 2017. If you believe the number of mass shooting today should be watered down by adding up the years where even no mass shooting at all took place ..... then you are trying to fool someone. We don't care how many mass shootings there were 50 years ago. We care about what is happening today.

You mean there are actually people who fling cows and train bees/wasps to attack on command? Gosh, is it your opinion that as long as cows continue to misbehave themselves that we should be content with mass shootings? Jesus!

Who is "making it seem far worse than it is"? The facts are facts. The numbers are numbers. There is no "making it seem worse" about it. It is what it is.

That's a lie. The attack on 7/11 claimed many more fatalities than any truck in Europe.
