Ewww. look at that ice cube! If this bar can’t come up with a clear ice machine, I’m outta here.
I bet it was frozen in an old school metal ice tray right next to the corned beef you got on sale last year. F’n gross. lol

Fancy. My fav is Sonic ice, but really -- any ice is fine. I am fussy about my sweet tea staying ice-cold, so invested in a Yeti. It serves me well. :)

I did that about a couple of months ago after my brother got me all into it. Binged watched from the First season all the way to the last season only to discover they won't be releasing the new season until 2019. [IMG]

Now that Dragon Queen [IMG] was quite lucky MMC wasn't one of the players. [IMG]

    Sometime in the last 2 years I had a 5 minute debate/argument with a
Ice Delievery guy.As I was going into my Big City Kroger.
I asked him while he was walking to his Bluegrass Ice truck.
I had learned just a few weeks earlier what keeps ice form
being clear.Because the best ice possible for me Drinks is
a big deal to me.I never use tap water for drinking, let alone making
Ice Cubes.I use the best bottled water I buy for m e Ice Cubes.
It seems that distilled water makes the clearest Ice Cubes.
But according to an Article I read,it's actually the amount of
Oxygen that exists in water that makes for unclear Ice.
This Ice Delievery guy acted like some Popeye. He was certain
that it was due to dirty ice.He couldn't explain how ice gets dirty,
just Kept using the term " dirty ice ". He had no interest when I told him
it was due to Oxygen levels inside the water. He kept up with his
dirty ice explanation to a cocky level.Like he was certain.
    His explanation made no sense.

elderly italian women were better than most women at helping you live if you treated them well.

they were also better than most women at helping you die if you treated them bad.

Ice from a freezer tastes like freezer. Ice from the store has to say for drinking on the bag or it’s not for drinking, even if it is meant for drinking, I’m still suspect. Clear ice has no flavor, odor, floaties, or sediment. The ice bin on a clear ice isn’t refrigerated. Once the ice falls out of the cutter grid, it falls into the bin which is basically an ice chest, it melts and the machine will turn on and top it off from time to time. The down side is they use a lot of power, they waste water, and are kind of noisy.

I should quit while I’m ahead. I bought a clear ice and now it is the only ice that will do, I started making my own beer, and roasting my own coffee, same thing. Everyone was happy before, but now....

Some people say you can even eat dirt, for the nutrients.

Bugs, berries, dirt. When that no longer suffices, I'll take the first exit, and be the snack for everyone else. I just don't think I could eat someone else, regardless of how much they may taste like chicken.

this is what i learned today sensei:

    'canary in a coal mine'

"Something or someone who, due to sensitivity to his, her, or its surroundings, acts as an indicator and early warning of possible adverse conditions or danger. Refers to the former practice of taking caged canaries into coal mines. The birds would die if methane gas became present and thereby alert miners to the danger."

At me monthly Booze run { mostly Red Wine } they were showcasing some
new Bar product. It was in a cardboard box with a Picture of white eggs.
Turns out they were egg shaped metal { white } objects that when
freezed are used as if ice cubes.
I shied away because certain materials are unhealthy.Like
plastic containers.Especially when microwaving.Plastic is more
responsible for certain type cancers than almost any other material.
So I no longer use a big Plastic bowl to make a salad.I use
    a thick glass casserole pot.

I use tap water and am thankful the freezer is working to freeze the trays.
    This is probably why.
If I ever said, there are bubbles in these ice cubes, this is what would happen. Guaranteed.
Id get an uncomfortable amount of silence and the dead eye death stare to go along with it. Then I would hear, "You don't like bubbles in the ice cubes? Do you know how lucky you are to have that ice cube in your glass? We drank warm water because the ice block we put in the window box was to keep our food from spoiling. We were grateful we had that block of ice with bubbles in it. Not everyone was so lucky. You think you are so special that bubbles in your ice cube should be a concern to you? Give me that ice cube, you don't deserve it."
Im laughing typing that but its the truth.

I don't think I will ever look at an ice cube in quite the same way again.

Personal note: Finally home from a 2,000 mile road trip that took me from Denver to Albuquerque to Phoenix (Rockies spring training) to Flagstaff to Grand Canyon N.P. to the Navajo Nation to the Mormon towns of southern Utah and back home to Denver. Whew! What a country.
