My wife's father was ethnically cleansed from Jerusalem by the Palestinians in 1948 where his family lived for generations.
Had he been Palestinian he would have been considered a refugee, so would have been my wife and my kids.
All would have been supported by the UN till this day.
How fortunate they are Jews, so first he lived in a tent, then a shack, then a falling house and finally a proper home.
All done by hard work rather then begging and groveling to show how miserable he is to grab some more of that UN money.

I'm talking about the two state solution that was proposed in 1947 by the UN. Resolution 181. The Israelis agreed to it, the Arabs turned it down. It wasn't really an agreement since only the Israelis agreed. It was never implemented. Israel does not exist because of any agreement. It exists because the Jews declared it and fought for it, And the UN and the vast majority of countries of the world recognize it.

I don't know why you ask me about all the wars Israel has had to fight for its survival. I'm sure you know about them.

That did not forfeit the Occupied territories to Israel. This is where your argument is fallacy .. non sequitur/it does not follow.

That the UN and most of the world recognize "Israel" as per the borders outlined in the agreement you are referring to ... is one thing. Israel expanding outside those borders is quite another.

Almost no Nation - and certainly not the UN (and I do not even think the US) recognizes Israel's any right of Israel to the occupied territories - Palestine.

Giving any money to the Palestinians is just like throwing money down the sewer.....not a penny ever reaches the poor wretches living in huts and barely surviving! You can being assured, however, that lots of funds are being used to train future terrorists on how to kill!

By the way....there is no such nation as Palestine....as it is merely a geographic designation, much like 'Death Valley' in California!

Israel does not claim sovereignty over the West Bank. Nobody else has sovereignty over it either. Its disputed territory.

Bulldozing peoples homes and claiming that land is claiming sovereignty.

Its easy enough to look up Israels position on this. They do not claim sovereignty over the West Bank.

It is easy enough to figure out that if you are bulldozing peoples houses and stealing the land ... and then holding this land by force .. this is a claim to sovereignty ... whether it is done publicly or not. Actions speak louder than words.

The West Bank is divided into administrative regions, some administered by the Palestinian National Authority and some by Israel. Israel considers it disputed territory.

I don't care what Israel considers it ... the area that is under Israel's jurisdiction is what was agreed upon in the agreement by which Israel gained the right to exist. They have no legitimate claim to the areas where they are bulldozing and settling.

The fact that they signed the agreement which designated these boundaries ... Israel now disputing these boundaries is a violation of that agreement.

How about we just tear up the agreement and give all the region to the Palestinians ? since this is essentially what you are arguing from the other side.

No need to tear up the so-called agreement. Only Israel agreed to it and it was never implemented. The Palestinians and their Arab allies chose war instead. They lost every time. Boo hoo. The Palestinians need to get over it, forget about their impossible dream of wiping out Israel, quite electing terrorists to represent them, get to the table and make a deal. If they don't like seeing Jewish settlements on land that they think ought to be theirs they have only themselves to blame.

You can complain and obfuscate (dream of wiping out Israel) all you like. This will not change the fact that Israels dream of wiping out the Palestinians from land that is not rightfully Israel's ... is a violation of the agreement allowed Israel to exist.

As far as terrorism is concerned .. Israel is winning that battle. For every Israeli child killed, there are 10 Palestinian children killed. Israel has committed far more acts of terror than the Palestinians.

You need to stop drinking so much Establishment propaganda koolaid and educate yourself.

Yes, Israel is winning the battle. That's the only sensible thing you said in your post so I have to focus on that. Israel has won every battle. That's why they still exist. Its time for the Palestinians to get realistic, accept their fate, which they brought on themselves, go to the negotiating table and get the best deal they can.

You are the one talking nonsense - about Israel having an internationally recognized right that, as it turns out, is simply a figment of your imagination. Do not transfer your issues my direction por favor.

Israel is becoming bit of an international pariah and getting too big for it's britches. For a long time it has been living under the protective shadow of the US and so has become bold. The problem is that the US no longer is as big as it once was on the world stage and this will leave Israel much more vulnerable than in past decades.

Its one thing for the US to be arming and supporting terrorist groups such as Al Nusra in Syria - quite another for Israel to be doing the same. Israel has benefited from support from a the world superpower.

Now it is supporting a terrorist group that is fighting another military superpower - Russia. In addition you have the issue of the Golan Heights which is Syrian property.

Israel has long complained about Iran supporting Hezbollah and Hamas but, if these groups were being helped the way Israel has been helped (by weapons made by a nation state) the missiles (rockets) being fired by the Hezbollah at Israel would be doing much more damage.

The Idea that Iran has been giving significant military help to Hezbollah is thus laughable nonsense.

if Israel keeps up it's antics this may change ... Israel could have both Syria and Israel ... and perhaps even Russia taking up the cause of the Palestinians and after all ... this would only be fair would it not ?

For years Israel has been the big bully ... helped by a major superpower to fight nations such as Egypt, Syria and others and then using that power to abuse the Palestinians.

Perhaps it is time for the Palestinians to get help from a nation state to give Israel a taste of its own medicine.

Fair is fair don't you think ?

Making statements is easy. Proving your statements are correct is an entirely different matter.

Please list the international laws, treaties and customs that prove your assertion about Israel having no internationally recognized right.

Before you do it, though, please be aware that neither history nor international law began in 1967, or 1948, or even 1917. Check thoroughly.

    False.

The Arab world is leaning heavily on Israel to save its collective arse from the looming Iranian threat.

Major international businesses choose to invest in Israel. Major international businesses buy Israeli start-ups products.

Israel is a member of the OECD.

If you only search for bad issues concerning Israel, you'll find only bad issues. That doesn't mean that all the issues concerning Israel are bad.

Oh yes, dealing with the various more or less terrorist groups in the Middle East is certainly less vital to US than to Israel. I wonder why would anyone expect Israel not to get involved with local players, when those local players are sitting on Israeli border and can point their guns to Israeli civilians on a whim. Weird that Israel would try to prevent such scenario, isn't it?

Ideals and morally-pure tight principles might - not quite, but let's stretch imagination more than a bit - work in places that don't face immediate existential threats. Not in places like the Middle East, where alliances shift constantly and treaties are optional. When in Rome...

By the way, one of the first actions of Assad's army at the beginning of the civil war was a vicious attack on Palestinian refugees' camps in Syria (temporarily souring relations between Hamas and Iran at the time). But Assad is the good guy, and all the rest are terrorists...[IMG]

"All the banks of the world cannot stand as an obstacle to Hezbollah," Nasrallah boasted.

He explained that Hezbollah's entire budget is bankrolled by Tehran, saying, "As long as there is money in Iran, we will have money."

    http://www.businessinsider.com/hezb...re-is-money-in-iran-we-will-have-money-2016-6

Beside his words on a possible Israel or United States attack on Iran, Nasrallah for the first time acknowledged that his party was solely funded and equipped by Iran. “We have been receiving since 1982 all kinds of moral, political and material backing from the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Nasrallah said. His statement marked the first time he has openly admitted the source of the military and financial backing for his party. “In the past we alluded partially to this truth,” Nasrallah said, Agence France-Presse reported. “We used to speak of a moral and political support while keeping silent when questioned about our military backing so as not to embarrass Iran. “But today ... we have decided to speak out.”

    http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/iran-funds-hezbollah-leader-nasrallah-admits-13324

The funding and arming of Hezbollah by Iran is common knowledge. Has been for years.

Regarding the damage you claim Hezbollah's missiles didn't do, well...you've obviously never been here, have you?

Not only are all residential buildings equipped with underground bomb shelters, but the newer buildings have safe rooms in every apartment. There are also public shelters in residential areas, in schools, kindergartens, malls, workplaces, actually everywhere. That explains the low number of casualties. Israel protects its own.

Have I already mentioned that history didn't begin in 1967?

Palestinian terrorists certainly didn't wait for 1967 to attack Israeli civilians. The fedayeen were recruited, trained, equipped and harbored by Egypt and Jordan.

The PLO was founded in 1964. The organization attacked Israel's National Water Carrier on December 31 1964. PLO had bases in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria. So much for Palestinians not getting help from nation states. Of course after they tried to depose the Jordanian king and thanked the Lebanese for their hospitality by massacring Christians in Damour, some of that help somewhat diminished.

I see my post touched a nerve :)

    1) Israel has no right to the occupied territories - obviously they have a right to the area agreed to in the agreement by which Israel was allowed to exist. You seem to have misread my post.

    2) Hezbollah is not using sophisticated weapons - such as those that could be provided by a nation state such as Iran ... certainly they are not being equipped as well as Al Qaeda and other Islamist radicals were in Syria (equipped by the US, Saud, Qatar and others). It is also true that Israel was helping Al Nusra/Al Qaeda.

Perhaps you can help my recollection but did we not vow to go after not only the Terrorists (Al Qaeda) but their supporters as well ?

    3) Your claim that Assad was at war or an enemy of the Palestinians is abject nonsense. Hezbollah fights for Assad.

    4) You are correct that El Saud - and the Gulf states (who are alligned under El Saud) has been on relatively good terms with Israel of late. OH Joy ... allies with the cradle and root ideology of Islamist terrorists.

You seem to be unaware that the Sunni and Shia have been battling each other for centuries in the Region.... that Saudi school children are taught to hate not only Christians and Jews .. but other Muslims that do not share their extremist Salafi Islamist interpretation of the Koran.

If US and Israel are willing to be useful puppets in this battle ... "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"

This however is going nowhere good. Syria, Iran, Russia (and China to some degree) are on one side .. Israel, US, Saudi Arabia on the other.

If the bombs start flying .. .who do you think will be caught in the middle ?

No actually. I am a much bigger fan of Israel in general (their Zionist leadership aside) than of the land of Islam.

You see what happens if we just reverse the situation (which is what I was doing) how quickly things get hot.

Its all good for the US (in conjunction with Saud, Qatar, Israel and others) to arm and support Islamist extremists in Syria ... .. but the whining that would happen should the Palestinians be armed .. the childbirth like screams of pain would be heard round the world.

Pointing out the hypocrisy is not "hoping for war". It is this hypocrisy that is leading to war.

Well, if you're interested to see more Palestinian terrorists and their enablers vaporized then by all means..carry on!

Nothing better than the smell of fried Hamas in the morning! Maybe add a touch of the Islamic Brotherhood and a few others to add flavor?

Yes indeed....with terrorists we must be proactive.....go after them where they live, before they can murder with their bombs, knives, cars, trucks or guns!
