Where has anybody suggested that teachers be “forced “ to carry a gun?

And the fact that you dont understand what select fire is and why the AR15 doesn't have that shows you do not have sufficient knowledge on the topic..

The fact that your bringing up military weapons when we are talking about AR15s shows that you dont have sufficient knowledge on the topic..

and if you cant also grasp the basic understanding of how the Girardoni rifles fire rate was so much faster compared to muskets, that to get the same advantage in todays guns you would be looking at a Gatling gun vs hunting rifle.. again shows shows you do not have sufficient knowledge on the topic..

Encouraged? Why go into an already difficult profession where they have to have drills so they don’t get killed

Except I haven't even once mentioned the AR15. I haven't even come close to commenting on whether or not it should be allowed to own one.

Are you saying you feel more protected from a mass shooter in a place where your background checked, trained coworkers are defenseless? Good luck with that.

I felt safe for years in one of the toughest schools in Brooklyn...kids Did not have AR. 15’s at their disposal. Maybe we should have the same requirements you want for my co workers for people who buy any gun

Who said criminals should have guns? Maybe we shouldn’t have to register our cars because after all some people don’t register them

What is stupid is to let criminals kill children. Let any teacher that wants to carry do so.

What is stupider is letting people have access to military style weapons whose sole mission is to kill many at a time ...or for macho guys to have fun with

It isn’t? I think we need an amendment . I guess our forebears didn’t see the future where cars and assault weapons would be the norm

Meaning what? The debate isn't about putting armed security guards in schools, but about arming civilian teachers in the classroom. Big difference, you know.

The chronology of the posts shows time and again how intellectually dishonest you are. I have answered all challenges with responses that can and have been backed with documented fact. You haven't.

You're not making sense.....first you refuse to admit your initial statement was flat out wrong....then you try to excuse your error with more moot clap trap. Then you finish out wit a reiteration that contradicts itself!

Bottom line: had the AWB been in effect, Cruz would NOT have had that weapon. And again, who is going to pay for all that training teachers will need to deal with a riot type situation? The psych screening?

No, you're a willfully ignorant, intellectually dishonest and insipidly stubborn right wing hack. The NYT did a number by hawking the bogus information that sold folk like you on the Iraq War. Hardly an action for a "leftie" tome.

Sorry to inform you, but in a discussion you have to provide valid, documented facts as proof that your opinions are "truth". So far, you haven't done that on the whole, so I called you on it.

I am making plenty of sense, you just are in denial of hard facts. It is yourself who was wrong, as you claim the federal assault weapons ban somehow worked, then when I pointed out that it never banned the guns in question, you responded that it banned "some" of them. Yes, but "some" means nothing if other versions were still plenty available. I pointed out that states have their own assault weapons bans and many of those, despite being more restrictive than the federal ban, still do not ban the AR-15.

The FACT is that if the federal assault weapon ban had been in effect, Cruz WOULD have been able to have acquired that SAME weapon quite EASILY because the ban never banned the weapon. You could always buy AR-15s under the federal assault weapon ban, just not ones with more two or more "Evil Features." So all the manufacturers did was continue to make them but with only one "Evil Feature."

Dude if a teacher volunteers to do so he is also volunteering to go through a basic combat shooting course. We are not talking about handing guns out willienillie here.. With the permission to carry in the class room comes the responsibility to be able to effectively make appropriate decisions should, God forbid, the time ever come when they are required.

If you do conceal carry you require a license which in most states requires you to do some course work. How much and how good it is varies by state. Owning a gun is a constitutional right. therefore so is buying one.
