How does Mueller's probe of Trump compare to Starr’s probe of Clinton?
Unlike Starr, who gave interviews, Mueller has adopted a very low profile, and there have been few, if any, leaks from his team. But their tactics are similar: Starr persuaded Lewinsky and other witnesses to cooperate by threatening them with long jail terms for lying, just as Mueller has done. Also familiar are the aggressive attempts by Trump's backers to discredit Mueller. During the Starr investigation, Sen. Pat Leahy (D-Vt.) claimed the independent counsel was "totally out of control" and fixated on "trying to topple the president." Clinton aides demanded an investigation into the investigation; Democratic lawmakers called on Starr to step down. "Clinton only survived," says Dick Morris, one of his former advisers, "because he made Ken Starr the enemy."
Can Trump do the same?
He will certainly try. Clinton's supporters had more basis for their complaints: Starr was a partisan Republican when he was appointed; Mueller is a lifelong Republican who was appointed FBI director by Republican George W. Bush, although several of his investigators are Democrats. Because the charges against Clinton primarily involved a private sexual affair, the public generally took a dim view of Starr's charges: Clinton's approval ratings soared to their highest-ever level during the impeachment. That dynamic — reinforced by the Democrats' strong showing in the 1998 midterms — convinced senators that removing the president from office over the Lewinsky affair would be political suicide. A similar principle applies with Mueller's investigation. If he finds grounds for impeachment, public opinion will serve as the ultimate jury, and Congress' decision about whether or not to oust Trump will be largely a political calculation.

2nd time someone's brought up Edwards ... I don't know why. Cohens payment to Daniels was to consumate a binding legal agreement. Trump was invoiced. Even if campaign funds paid the legal fees, payment included, I don't see the FEC violation.

 

The FEC didn't see the violation with Edwards and charges were dropped. If it even does go to the FEC here I would expect the same. The DOJ even charged him and took it to court and ended up walking away with their tails between their legs pretty much admitting it was a stretch to begin with.

When Hillary later said she had NO IDEA he was cheating on her, and she didn't speak to him for days blah blah blah I lost respect for her. Of course she knew, she was probably happy about him pawing other women and leaving her alone (up until he got caught and it created a scandal).

As far as Melania, I feel a bit sorry for her. She knew what he was but I doubt she knew it would get this ugly (unsafe sex with bunnies and porn stars while she was trying to get pregnant etc...) and she never signed up to be the first lady.

That is humiliating for her and their son and I expect she is re-negotiating her pre-nup as we speak.
