Only when I park my bed at a café ..... then yes. Do you really think your comment is relevant?

Maybe read back and see where you didn't understand what I said, and have since made 2 posts now not knowing.

I'll give you a hint. The value of his thoughts and advice and how it effects the price of a cup of Joe.

Allow me to re-quote the main point .......
"When the seats are filled with people not buying".
Do you ever get out of the house? Have you ever wondered how people solve their everyday problems? What do you do when someone steps on your foot? What do you do when you step on someone else's foot? Do you have a crib sheet with all of the right things to do in most circumstances? Is your life filled with extremes? Is the nothing in between? Have you ever noticed the many shades of grey or how to avoid extreme problems?

Stepping on feet...shades of grey...people solving problems....

When will you get close to anything resembling said main point?

You and the other one have said just that. That's it's perfectly fine for people to just pop in out of the cold and sit down...even if they have no intention of buying.

If it sounds so dumb that you want to distance from it later, then don't take that stance initially.

With all due respect, I am sure you wouldn't buy a simple cup of coffee. You'd have to go for the super duper deluxe double-triple-quadro with 127 extra flavours .... just so no one will think you are a cheapskate. 8)

Far more relevant than 90% of the posts you've made in this thread, and true.

Naaaah. Just cream and sugar in my Coffee. I like the flavor of Coffee, and don't buy into all those flavors.

I don't care of people "think" whatever they think about me, I'm not controlled by the Feelz. I leave a tip, so they 'know" I'm not a cheapskate.

I'm sure you do too right?

Yes. But it's painful if they've been brought up that way. I'm over 70 myself but I love Democracy so I have no problem with learning.

    Me too.
But you are afraid enough not to sit without buying something.
Only when I am abroad. You see, we pay everyone a decent wage and tipping is not a common thing. I never tip at home.

"Afraid"? Sure you have the right terminology there chief?

It's not about Fear at all, it's because they're a business. They didn't put that shop there for people to sit and smell the coffee, and soak up their Wifi..lol.
Why would I just decide to go there and sit? I can sit at home. Crazy stuff. You think bravery is loitering?

If I'm not at my home, and someone gave me good service I tip them every time.

I spent most of my working career prior to Starbucks drinking stop and Rob coffee across the Pacific Northwest out to Montana and that's still what I drink. Starbucks is a great business model and it's obviously been very successful.

Well, your scenarios get crazier by the minute. We've got these 2 guys, you see, sitting at a café who are just waiting for someone. That's the basis of the whole story - the main point, as you say. But flicking through the pages I see that you (and others) have embellished it by introducing restaurants full to capacity with non-paying guests who are wrenching paying customers from their seat and taking it for themselves ..... and my oh my what should the staff do?!!! And you are actually and seriously acting as though it's all relevant. So I just wonder if you have any experience with life and its inhabitants.

I do because taking the position "the table was unoccupied" shows a lack of consideration as to why the table was there to begin with. The table was purchased to be used by paying customers. You may not have experience running a business, but you are still welcome to your opinion. Its always interesting to see how people react when their opinion gets applied to them.

Yes, obviously is right. We've got them all the way over here, even at the main railway station. I have to say that judging by the prices they charge they can afford to allow half the tables go to "loiterers" and still make a killing.

First off "Café". You keep tossing this word around as if it means free space to hang out, but it doesn't.

Clearly , even being a "Café" doesn't mean free hangout. now many cafes don't mind if you have an extended visit, but they're hoping of course that you have that visit with some of their offerings. They did not open up a Homeless shelter or public park.
Now if they were just waiting for someone, why not say so?? Is it really that hard to do? No place I've ever been in has had any issue with people waiting for the rest of their party before ordering.

It is relevant. It's a business, not a free hangout. You do understand the difference right?

Your premise doesn't make any sense in this case, if the man they were waiting on for their mtg had not have shown up you would have a weak argument at best and to say that all the white folks who were there was in cohoots with their plan is laughable.
