Alpha the guy who totes his own load tries to clean up his own messes and doesn't blame others for the problems has has wrought through his own ignorance, arrogance, and/or stupidity. A beta is the guy that would barely pick up his own ass to go get something to eat, doesn't believe he ever made a mess in his life and wouldn't lift a finger to clean it up even if you could convince him it's his fault, and is firmly convinced that everything wrong in his life is someone elses fault. And yes I do have different standards than most. Humans are far more complicated critters than wolves. Human alphas can and will take orders if they conceive of them as rational and necessary at the moment. So among humans who gives the orders isn't so much a determining factor in status neither is kicking ass.

 

'Falling in love' is largely a Hollywood manufacture. Men arent commonly emotionally dependent enough to 'fall in love', and it seems women are no longer happy with merely being loved.

If I understand correctly, being 'in love' requires a degree of emotional dependence where two people depend on eachother for happiness. This is not considered a 'healthy' emotional state, psychologically speaking.

In fact, being 'in love' has historically been viewed as a mental illness throughout human history. Until about the last hundred years, marriage was always accepted as more of a business contract than a romantic love story.

Men arent usually looking for someone to make them happy, and even less are they looking for someone else to make happy. They're looking for someone to share happiness with. If you're not already happy with yourself, its unlikely a man is going to be able to change that. (and vice versa of course).

This is the 'norm' Im referring to. There are exceptions... There are couples who have a happy relationship centered around emotional codependence, but they're the exception to the rule.

Of course you should expect a partner to not be rude, and Its entirely reasonable to seek someone who isn't preoccupied with material status. What Im addressing is this desire to find someone who is more worried about your needs than their own. Why do you need 'comforting?' Why do you need someone else to make you feel important and special? These are not healthy needs. Do you believe its reasonable to expect someone else to make you feel this way if you're incapable of making yourself feel this way? Seems to me thats a lot of pressure to put on someone.

 

Like the guys blaming their dead-end, low-paying jobs on the Mexicans and not their lack of education, intelligence and work ethic? So instead of attending night school and trying to better themselves, they gather in a mass of other beta males and scream "build the wall! build the wall!"?

Bit simplistic actually, what they are blaming the Mexicans for is increasing the supply of the sort of labor they do which thereby causes a decline in what is paid for that same labor. Granted most of them couldn't quite put it so succinctly but that is the gist of the complaint. It is not that the Mexicans cause them to have to take such jobs. And in most regards it is the same argument labor leaders made throughout the history of the Union movement in this country.

But just to be clear- men arent typically skilled at that sort of emotional support. They don't require it as much and thus don't have the proper frame of reference to provide it as much.

Its likely that this particular want of yours is the limiting factor in your search for a man.

The hard work and sacrifice that lends to being a good provider require a certain level of stocism that runs counter to being the sort of emotional person thats well equipped to be emotionally supportive in the way you're seeking.

You're basically looking for two opposing personality types that rarely manifest in one individual (outside hollywood romcoms, at least).
