I do no know who the "you folks" are so I have a new policy here in that Inwill treat any comments that contain the "you people" or "you folks" as the inane and possibly insane utterings of those who are unable or unwilling to formulate an response.

I did not slam "Slavs". You obviously have no understanding of the history or the demographic diversity of the Imperial Russian empire that became the Soviet Union. By the early 1970's the percentage of Russians in the USSR was down to the 52-53.5%. Slavic population of the USSR which included Ukrainians, Belarus, and Lithuanians to the Russians hit no more than 64%. The populations that was growing faster than the Slavic were those from "the Stans". Except for Khazakstan which had almost 35 + % infestation of Russian illegals and invaders the Stans were predominantly Muslim. If you think that the Soviets irradicated Muslim culture or the Muslin religion think again.

The Russians who ran the USSR were very aware of the demographic statistics. Soviet internal passports included the identity of nationality and that did not mean the republic you lived in it meant what ethnic group you identified with. Muslims hid their Korans and they kept teaching their culture through their religion even though religion was suppressed.

Just before the USSR fell apart Russians as an ethnic group was not technically even 50%. The Muslim population was growing faster than the Russians, and faster other Slavic groups, faster than Armenians, Georgians, Estonians, and Lits and Lats. This was very well observed by the KGB.
This scared the ruling Russians.

My father who has since passed had predicted that by year 2000 the Muslims in the Stans and even in Russia such as those in Chechnya or in Tatarshchina would be moving toward independence or near open rebellion. The USSR breaking up put the kabosh on the very lilekly Muslim revolt. My father knew his enemies- Russians and Soviets well.

The reason that I noted this in relation to the immigration and illegal problem is because there are certain parallels with our demographic changes and what the direction that the USSR was going.

You can ignore my comments as you will but there may be others here who have the drive and the willingness to dig down and find the intelligence and open mindness to understand and consider why warning that there are some parallels with what almost happened with the USSR.

Of course other will as you did just continue to think that debating begins and ends with accusing fellow members as being " you people".

Putin works hard to keep his Muslims happy. What happened to Chechnya is always available as a salutary lesson, but he does his best to accommodate them in other ways. His very conservative social policies, such as on homosexuality, no doubt go down well with most Muslims.

If the Russian Federation lost its Muslim component, the way would be clear for really nasty Slavic nationalism. As it is, the Russian Federation is like the US, a multi-tribal society. Let's hope he can keep the lid on.

You must be assuming that the far left is popular and there no evidence that it can get more than about 30% of the vote. About 1/3 of this country's voters are independents. The majority of them voted with Trump in 2016 because they are not socialists. It seems unlikely to me that they will turn out to vote for a democrat party that is moving even farther to the left. I think the Repubs will do okay in the midterms because the independents will not vote for people like Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris or Ocasio-Cortez.

By modifying voter data base info like say a birth date effectively preventing that citizen from being allowed to vote on election day and producing exceptionally long lines disenfranchising working voters.
