Trump Predicts Electoral Doom for Democrats

President Trump is predicting that Democrats will be “beaten so badly” if they campaign on the policy of abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) -- just as the once-fringe call to scrap the agency is going mainstream among the left.

In an interview to be aired Sunday with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures,” Trump was asked what he thinks about more Democrats lining up to call for the agency’s abolition.

“Well I hope they keep thinking about it. Because they’re going to get beaten so badly,” he said. “You know ICE, these are the guys that go in and take MS-13, and they take them out. Because they’re much tougher than MS-13, like by a factor of 10. And these are the ones – you get rid of ICE you’re going to have a country that you’re going to be afraid to walk out of your house.”

“I love that issue if they're going to actually do that,” he added.

I think the President has a point here.

Despite what side one may come down on the illegal immigration issue, all normal thinking people should be able to recognize that Trump's tough stand on illegal immigration contributed largely to his victory.

That means this was a topic that many Americans felt strongly about.

And, for the Democrats to double down and go 100% in the opposite direction is not going to resonate with many voters.

Seems kind of like a no brainer to me.

 

Yes, but then again leftists and their leadership sort of define the term 'brainless' when it comes to politics. Look at how relentlessly they have shot themselves in the political foot since the political tide shifted on them in 2010. Aside from the MSM getting Barack Obama re-elected they accomplished zilch politically speaking except lurch even more ludicrously farther and farther Left. because they lost the congress so soon because dems did not get out and vote in the midterms, so while Obama controlled the Presidency, republicans controlled the congress, so if you really want to complain about nothing getting done in Congress, that is all on Republicans

It is NOT about getting out the vote, in general.
It is about representing all the people without qualification of gender, race, sexual preference, etc.

The people in Crowley's district did not feel represented enough to go out and vote for him.
In the O.C. we appreciate Dana Rohrabacher, and people get out and vote for him.

What did you fail to understand about Trump losing the popular vote? Voter turnout was at a 20 year low and Clinton still whooped his ass by 3 million. Trump is not popular and never had a mandate. A no brainer here.... That is not even taking into account the Russkie interference and the Hillary email nonsense just days before the election.

 

I think normal dems have a severe problem on their hands. The fence sitters arent going to differentiate between leftists who are talking ICE abolishment and open borders with dems who are not. Trump was elected because America did not agree with these far left ideologies and people came out to vote. The far lefts antics will cause that on steroids the next time around. If I were a lefty Id be focusing on correcting and disagreeing with the far left. I doubt they will though.

I personally think he was meeting with them as he planned to lose and was looking to increase business connections... it's the coverup after he won that will get him... had he lost as he thought, he would of benefited from these new connections, trump likes to seem important, anyone that massages his ego can manipulate him imo

Yet in 2010 the Demos still held onto the Senate. So held 2/3rds of government. Held with 51 Senators and had 2 Independents caucus with them.
