It was another sad day in America this evening, the Taliban struck again resorting to violence to attack America's history, traditions, values and customs and erasing America's history and replacing it with cultural-marxist revisionist history.

Another American war memorial toppled by leftist hate mongers.

Over 40% of the students on this campus went to fight in the Civil War, most did not return and it didn't mean they believed in slavery, it meant that they were fighting for what they thought was their nation.

The school almost shut down but somehow remained open hoping for the return of the boys the war took.

On the 50th anniversary of the war they erected the monument to commemorate the loss of life of their students, what it did to the school, and how it affected the lives of everyone there.

It was created so we don't forget the pain and anguish that war brings with it.

And they tore it down.

 

Nobody reads books anymore. Nowadays it is banning people on the internet.

 

When statues of Saddam were torn down, was that the actions of “Taliban terrorists”?

How about then the founders toppled statues of King George III? Were they “Taliban terrorists”?

 

Or we could not have monuments to white supremacist traitors.

 

And their “nation” went to war over slavery.

 

I think some of them had a problem with, for instance; the dedication speech for the statue. The speech goes a little farther than dedicating it to commemorate the loss of life of their students, what it did to the school, and how it affected the lives of everyone there. But I guess it could mean all those things to people now in 2018, although that was not the case when it was erected.

I think that's really the point. What did the statue stand for when it was erected? It seems to me the message was "the cause was just." The cause was not just. The dead soldiers arguably were heroic and patriotic and honorable. But the reality was the statue was NOT about them, but the cause of southern secession. Perhaps a museum that teaches about NC history is a better setting.

 

I wonder how you'll feel when an Obama statue is destroyed.

 

What did Obama do that compares to Stalinism or Slavery in the US?

 

The point is destruction of public property. You don't get to just destroy **** that hurts your feelings.

If you want it removed, petition it and let the government decide.

If they made a statue of Obama and someone just destroyed it, that's just as wrong as destroying any other public statues. The reason for the crime is irrelevant.
