In the North and Midwest, yes. In the South when you try to tear them down it results in massive counter-protests, opposition by Republicans in and out of government, and a chance a white supremacist will drive over a crowd.

The founders fought to establish a republic based on white supremacism. That is a fact. So if you condemn the confederacy, you put the founders in the crosshairs. And they WILL be targeted for the same kind of treatment.
