Bob Woodward: Trump's aides stole his papers 'to protect the country'

Nailed it! Nobody even ran it by him, knowing he'd want to talk to a potentially hostile reporter, and they didn't want that...

 

That's a poor summary of a scenario where conservatives don't want a Presidential assassin going anywhere near their President. Keeping him away meant they were very much in control, and doing their jobs. Woodward lied all the way through his predictable attack on Trump, using many "anonymous" sources and saying stupid things, like the part about people removing papers from Trump's desk so he couldn't sign them. Why were they there to begin with? Ever heard of secretaries removing letters that need to be changed? Hmm?

 

Ever hear that documents that make the presidents desk are probably finalized? Silly argument that....

When Gary Cohn comes out and says that story is false, you can make your case again....

 

If you claim Woodward lied, you had better be prepared to back that up.

He has forged a career based on investigative journalism. His reputation is based on the fact that he IS a reliable source. That he writes the truth.

I will acknowledge that it is possible that the people who spoke to him lied. Maybe they lied to him (although as an investigative journalist he would often be expected to rely on multiple sources). But if you want to claim that he lied - i.e. that he has published assertions that he knows to be false - you'd better come up with some convincing evidence.

 

I'll bet he grounds his club on practice swings in the bunker as well....

Meh, why would I think he knows golf etiquette, when he knows no etiquette at all....

 

I honestly believe it's denial. Take anyone of them coming out of a fallout shelter into the middle of a crater, and they would say that Trump had no choice....It's football season, so he had to take the football and press that big red button.

 

Which has little to do with Trump. He inherited it, and has been standing in front of it and patting himself on the back for it for two years.

In his first year, he did nothing to change economic policy for 11 months, but still boasted about an economy that his predecessor helped craft.

Economic growth rates are the same as they were before Trump and the downward trend in unemployment is the same as it has been for the last eight years.

This is the only thing that keeps Trump alive, and he know it. too!

 

You're talking about the Michael Wolff's book and no one has ever proven that it was fiction.

The U.S. GDP increased by 4.1 percent from the first quarter of 2018 to the second quarter of 2018. Overall, the US GDP increased by 2.3 percent in 2017, which can be found here. The real quarterly U.S. GDP growth in recent years since the recession has been mostly positive with some small exceptions.

This is an age of bitterness, and that's just how it goes. His aids assassinated him here. Had Woodward been given the chance to talk to POTUS maybe the President could have tried and made better of the situation.

Seems to me the doublespeak is getting to be too much for you lot to control any longer.

However, they only have to read Trump's messages on Twitter, which prove how balanced he is.

 

Trump is the top level manager. He trashes his subordinates to everyone at every level.

By your own logic, Trump has established a rotten workspace culture that would infect everyone. Therefore the behind the back comments by Mattis and Kelly are to be expected and are not at all unlikely.

 

So you think General Kelly and Mad-Dog Mattis are lying?

 

The unsigned statements Trump posted are very questionable as being actual statements from Kelly or Mattis.
