I’m all for ending DST, but a Constitutional Amendment? A simple law that anything federal will not recognize DST and states will fall in line.

Well I want the change dead. Also DST is the one I want it on and it's most popular so that's why I want it to go to referendum. I want standard time dead.

Yeah having to get the kids ready for school two hours before sun up is such a wonderful idea.

Right. It's not a serious enough issue to go through the amendment process.

Research how it came to be, and reverse it if sufficient support is found for that.

But people who do stuff outdoors -- runners, cyclists, distance walkers, park goers, paddlers, golfers, disc golfers, after school hunters, et al, for the most part love DST and would extend it if they could.

Being retired, I'm on sun time (the only real time) for the outdoors.

If Congress would get off their arse and keep us in DST then this would not be necessary. Maybe we need to have a massive march with tens of millions all across the nation for them to act.

I messaged my reps and they were like "will get to is eventieven"

Arizona doesn't go on DST. I think allowing individual states to vote yes or no could result in a lot of confusion. Traveling across borders could be a nightmare. I do favor keeping DST.

Up to the state and there are some areas like Phenix City AL and Columbus GA which splits the time zone but Phenix operates under Eastern time because Columbus it he bigger city.

Boo freaking who. I had to do that in high school and middle school. Who doesn't walk their E school kids to the bus?

This is why I'm hoping it goes to referendum so that the few paranoid people don't kill DST.

I want light at the end of the day!

It's people like YOU that keep the change happening!

People who have to be at work in the morning before the bus gets there. Further just because you like getting up at 0 dark 30 doesnt mean the rest of us do.

You are patently in the minority. I get depressed when it's dark at 4 in the afternoon. I don't want to have 6-8 hours of dark before bed.

That's why it must be an amendment to stop it from being overturned.

There is 0 reason standing waiting for the bus in the dark is bad.

What’s the old Native American saying? Only a white man is dumb enough to cut the top off his blanket, sew it to the bottom and believe he has a bigger blanket.

When the sun is up I work in a ball cap. When it goes down I put on my LED headlamp and carry on. I don’t care how they cut the blanket I just wish they’d decide which end to do the sewing on and leave it there...forever.
