    Whatever happened to Trump's suggestion of a remittance fee? They're not Citizens, so it wouldn't be a violation of tax laws. Take every last penny until they legalize themselves or leave.

    And he is just stupid enough to follow through despite the fact that a Billion and a half business transactions cross the U.S.-Mexico border every day.

    Well, maybe if we gave like business exceptions? We've got to do something(that's effective). It can't be seen that all you have to do to gain privilege in the US is to cross our border lines. And this has nothing to do with race, and everything to do with taking the US seriously.

    Make the US a country again.

    Good cut & paste job. Link reminds us how Obama & his Congress recognized, but failed to act on border security. Now the same failed group is squealing like little girls because this president is actually doing something about it.

    President Trump has my full support in this decision. Like most Americans, I'd be willing to endure temporary financial hardship for the sake of national security.

    Shut 'er down.

    That would be incorrect.

    2017 overstays:

    Russia = 4,190

    Mexico = 52,589
    Nigeria = 19,676
    Venezuela = 30,424
    Haiti = 10,558
    Dominican Republic = 11,349
    Columbia = 22,148
    Brazil = 33,759

    (I could go on)

    Define “business transactions “. Wiring cash to Mexico? Our vacation dollars being spent in Mexico? Illegals sending cash to coyotes to smuggle relatives into the US? Drug purchases? We could do better without some of those business transactions.

    Shutting down the border is the proper response considering the size of this latest caravan. Sorry Mexico, we have to protect our border if you won't protect yours.

    Kidnapping and abduction of children by Trump?

    Kode, you've completely lost it.

    The same thing occurred under Obama.

    When adults show up at the border with no means of proving the children with them are related, the government has an obligation to protect them until that relationship can be established.

    Sounds like some very good reasons for Mexico to start cleaning up the "migrant" problems on THEIR side of the border. If they don't the US economy may get the sniffles but the Mexican economy will go into a coma and die of "migrant" and illegal bacteria very quickly. What are they waiting for? All they have to do is use their army. Maybe they are just waiting for someone to offer them a bribe or a payoff. That is how things are done in a shithole country like Mexico.

    I'm not surprised trump has your full support. I'm also not surprised their are hordes of lemmings in this country but I highly doubt it's "most". The fact of the matter is that millions of jobs directly depend on trade with Mexico and an order of magnitude more are indirectly dependent. Only a complete gdamn fool would entertain such a rash thought as shutting down the border. Of course we all know that the only solutions to a problem trump can fathom are ham-fisted, illogical, and inelegant. He has no capacity to analyze a situation and seek an optimum solution. He IS a gdamn drooling idiot, an obese mound of human waste.

    It's those "we" people who are in favor of not securing our southern border.

    It's that simple, eh? I know you're smarter than that, Pred. As long as there is demand for drugs there will be a black market, and as long as there's a black market there will be drug lords. Billions upon billions of $ nor a war on drugs will change the fact. It really is that simple.

    None of the above would happen if illegals didn't try to come here and drag their kids along with them. How many kids are sexually abused or even die on their illegal journey here? Do even care? And again, none of the above could have happen if the policies, procedures and facilities weren't already in place and being used to a far greater degree by the previous president.

    You are essentially correct. If I had my way, we would join forces with the Mexican military and exterminate the drug cartels throughout Mexico, from the ground up, 'root-and-twig'. But, as I have seen all my life, I rarely ever "get my way".

    It is a substitute measure, sure, but if we SEAL THE BORDER SHUT, and not allow anyone in Mexico (who is not a citizen of the United States) to come in here while a declared national emergency is in force, we can get illegal drugs, illegal aliens, and 'migrants' working fraud to get in here to almost ZERO. And that would be a gigantic improvement over what any and all previous American presidents have ever been able to accomplish.

    My honest appraisal of the situation is that it would take, at most, ONE month to completely straighten this situation out! I don't mind paying extra for America-grown avocados and asparagus for that long.... :hungry:

    [IMG]. Well-trained and well-equipped... the Mexican paramilitary police can FIX this -- pronto!

    They say it could cost 5 million jobs. Those connected to trade and those relying on trade to finish manufacturing products would be gone.
    If we produce all those goods, the cost of purchasing them will skyrocket. We'd be better off annexing Mexico and splitting it into states like Puerto Rico. They could never become full citizens.

    A lot of this is traced back to Reagan propping up dictators in Central America out of fear of communism getting a toe-hold in the region. But back to the point, why do you think these people would risk life and limb to get here? They're afraid of getting killed in their countries and are trying to seek asylum here. According to our laws, we have to give them a hearing. A wall's not going to stop that.

    Unless you support, which I suspect many Trump supporters would support, killing these people before they get to a wall. Just machine gun those brown bastards, right? Blow those ******* away.

    "We" refers to Americans, who continue to send billions in drug money to the Mexican cartels. Americans should stop doing that.

    Free stuff. Their countries are safer now than they've been in decades. They are NOT entitled to forum shop for asylum. It's the law here and in the Geneva Convention. So let's stop with the liberal propaganda. There is not 1 single person from Central America that is legally entitled to asylum in this country if they cross the southern border.

    El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras consistently rank among the most violent countries in the world. El Salvador became the world’s most violent country not at war in 2015, when gang-related violence brought its homicide rate to 103 per hundred thousand. It has since fallen by one third. Nevertheless, all three countries have significantly higher homicide rates than neighboring Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama.

    Extortion is also rampant. A 2015 investigation by Honduran newspaper La Prensafound that Salvadorans and Hondurans pay an estimated $390 million, $200 million, and $61 million, respectively, in annual extortion fees to organized crime groups. Extortionists primarily target public transportation operators, small businesses, and residents of poor neighborhoods, according to the report, and attacks on people who do not pay contribute to the violence.

    I like how you put Russia first ;). Way to trigger them(And yes, I do view politics as more serious than triggering, but the Left isn't being serious right now so why should I be.). But this shows how it's not a racial problem, but a national security problem that our immigration system is overloaded, legal immigrants can't be processed and people are sneaking through/overstaying.

    Reforming the system is the right thing to do for America.
