The problem is that that it is a whole package. Tax cuts can't pay for themselves when Congress refuses to work with the President on passing laws that reduce spending.

But if progressive, liberal voters would rather pay higher taxes to give illegals healthcare, welfare and free housing; then U.S. Tax payers will have to pay more.

The President has a total plan. Unfortunately, he has only been able to implement a small portion of the plan on his own. Collecting Hundreds or thousands in tariffs will help offset the costs.

 

Big difference is what the tax and regulation cuts did for the economy. It turned a Obama's nine trillion, 90% plus service and part time economy into the hottest economy on this earth, that lifted millions of Americans out of poverty. So as you can see it didn't just help the rich. It gave them an incentive to invest in America again and to move factories back that Obama said was gone and not coming back. Millions of Americans moved out of poverty into the middle class.

 

He's been the savior of the country, you just can't get honest reporting.

If the economy is on such a tear and everyone is getting rich, why risk messing it all up with tariffs?

Second, if the economy is held back by employers unable to fill open positions, wouldn't importing labor help?

Even before the tariffs so the claim does not hold water.

The reason for the debt is uncontrolled and possibly uncontrollable mandatory spending. No amount of reduction of discretionary spending will do the job even including removing all military spending. On top of that as interest rates rise, the interest on the debt could easily reach 1 trillion a year.
