Yes they did - the 2012 fiscal deficit was over 1 Trillion. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_United_States_federal_budget How do you think that deficit happened .. Magic ?

Republicans held the House in 2012. Do explain to us how all that money got approved if it was not the House of Representatives. Last time I checked it was the House that was the originator of spending bills - did something change ?

Try again. Of course there are those that don't want to reduce free stuff.

So what - what is the point of this comment with respect to Trumps massive defense spending spree. You keep returning to your own vomit - in some vicious circle of mindlessness.

If you think reducing or even eliminating military spending would stop the debt from increasing you are only fooling yourself.

As explained to you previously - in detail with numerical specifics (as opposed to your endless string of naked claims) - the 2009 Deficit of 1.4 Trillion was not "Obama" - or only the Dems for that matter.

Either start backing up your claims - most of which have been shown to be demonstrably false thus far - or quit making them.

So, guys who volunteer for the military, people who dedicate their lives to helping careers--police, firefighters, medics, teachers--are suckers?
And you figure this BS supports your selfishness?
You're lucky there is no God because you'd be screwed.

Obama and the dems voted for the 2009 budget, 2010, 2011....then the GOP came in and in 2012 and moving forward we saw a decline. Great job by the GOP to cut those historically high deficits

I didn't make that claim so it is not me who is the fool. The fool is the person who - when corrected - continues to make the same mistake - over and over and over and over. The one who can not accept correction.

The fact of the matter is that a whole lot of the increase to the deficit was due to the increase in defense spending.

The larger point however is that Trump - with both houses - presided over a massive deficit increase. This increase came not because total revenues were decreasing as a function of the economy slowing down. This increase came during a time when the economy was doing well.

This is serious fiscal irresponsibility - doubly so in a rising interest rate environment. It is what it is.

What I don't get is this uber Partisan blindness - which happens on both sides. When "the people" have such blinders on that they can not call a spade a spade -its not good.

The budget was not passed. Did you not read the "budget for dummies" link I sent to you - or the other links ? The one which proved your previous claims to be completely false ?

Regardless - as stated to you previously - the 2009 Budget that was proposed by Bush called for a 400 Billion dollar deficit - and this was the amount that was spent via the various spending mechanisms which provide funding for normal Gov't operations - this spending was passed by both sides.

The other Trillion dollars - as explained to you previously - came from 1) revenue dropped from 2.7 Trillion down to 2.1 Trillion = 600 Billion dollar deficit - something that had little to do with Obama - or the Dems for that matter.

The other 400 Billion came from TARP - and other stimulus spending - 250 of which was passed under Bush - on a bipartisan basis - and the other 150 under Obama - on a bipartisan basis.

It is one thing to make a mistake - this is only human - to continue to repeat that mistake after being corrected - over and over and over - is the mark of a fool.

2010, 2011...massive historical deficits all passed by the Dems...thankfully 2012 came along and the GOP got a hold of it and it started to come down.

Repeating mindless gibberish - over and over - is not an argument for much. It is a denial mechanism akin to some cult follower who has had their beliefs questioned.

Republicans - both congress and the admin - have been responsible for massive deficit spending. Cherry picking tid bits - while ignoring overall reality - does not change this fact. Nor does it change the fact that your initial claim that Republicans were not responsible for increasing the deficit - a claim which you have defended even after this claim was proven false - is preposterously false.

Reagan spent money like a princess with a credit card - massive deficit increases - at a time when the economy was doing well.
Bush Sr. ran massive deficits. The deficit was reduced to near zero under Clinton - with the help of a Republican Congress to be sure but also due to a "white Swan event" which increase revenues.

Under Bush the deficit went from zero to 1.4 Trillion - the most massive deficit increase in the history of the nation. This was mostly a function of an economic disaster - a disaster that happened under Bush's watch - a massive economic Ponzi scheme over which the Bush admin presided.

Under Obama the deficit was reduced from 1.4 Trillion down to roughly 550 Billion.

Under Trump - with control of both houses- we have massive deficit increases.

The idea that Republicans are "fiscally conservative" is koolaid induced stupor on steroids. Wake up and smell the flatus.

I was not the one claiming that the Dems were not big spenders - this is a simple fact. You on the other hand were claiming that Republican admin's and congress were not big spenders - a claim that is preposterous nonsense regardless of how many times you try to move the goalposts.

Fact - The record deficit was under Bush and my previous post is replete with Facts that show your assertion is abject nonsense.

Read the post 222 over and over again till it sinks in. Republican administrations (at least since Reagan) - and congress normally spend money like princesses with credit cards - that is the Fact.

Bush wasn’t in office in 2009. I simply highlighted the record deficits were under Dems and the gop cut them

Increased federal revenue at the same time. Discretionary spending is not the real problem.

    More BS from conservatives.

Cut taxes and then claim the problem is spending.

Ummm...we've heard this over and over and it is...BS

Republicans don't care about spending in general...they only care about cutting taxes (for the wealthy) and cutting spending on anything that helps the middle class and poor.

Do ya sense a theme there?

    All else is window dressing

    1) yes he was
    2) This comment highlights how little you know about the budget/spending process in this nation - Fiscal 2009 starts in Oct 2008.
    3) Highlighting deficits under does not change the fact that you are simply in denial with respect to the problem of Republican fiscal irresponsibility - and in denial of the fact that you have been proven wrong every step of the way.
