    Beyond the FBI maybe making cursory checks on probable cause suspicions, an investigation of the president probably requires a special counsel, who the president can fire at will.

    Congress is not investigating any suspected criminal activity. Suspected means tons more than a hunch or hope. There has to be probable cause and a known suspected activity. The FBI never stops in a bank just to browse through their books because some agent heard somewhere that many banks cook their books.

    I am miles away from expertise in US law, but I do know a bunch.

    ...The end of the investigation indicates that no additional Trump Organization executives — a group that includes Donald Trump Jr. — will be charged in the investigation, which was led by attorneys in U.S. attorney’s office in the Southern District of New York (SDNY).

    The SDNY has abandoned any such further investigation. There are no more charges from this activity pending against anyone.

    We don't "exponerate" people when charge them when there is probable cause. There is nothing to be exonerated for anyway.

    How about the Gennifer Flowers scandal do you know how that started and what it was about?

    President Clinton was investigated for known explicit criminal activity with his and Hillary's direct involvement. Trump is being investigated by congress for imaginary hopes they gleaned from stool samples.

    Yes I actually do. And by the new standard you set: No charges = witch hunt ....it was a witch hunt. And you can also explain how if the Clintons LOST money on the deal, they were somehow criminals ?

    So since all of the investigations were so “warranted”, you can explain how Bill, while under oath because he actually followed the law when subpoenaed, was asked about a blow job ?
