I know. Is it that you don’t know what single payer is, or you don’t know that Medicare is single payer?
I think it's that you don't know what the Medicare for all bill covers. It has no out of pocket expenses, while plans like Canada and France do. Also Canada's plan is administered by the provinces, not like Medicare for all, which is run by the federal government. But hey, free stuff is free stuff right?
I see. So you don’t know what single payer is, nor do you know that Medicare is single payer. Well, now you do.
Well remember she doesn't even realize she is not an Indian.. I suspect she has convinced herself of many mystical things..
Let me help you out with some more of that math. Healthcare costs about 3.5 trillion now per year and estimated to go up to 6.75 trillion. So thats an average of 5 trillion per year or 50 trillion over 10 years.
Likely it's all gone, perhaps in the anonymous accounts of anonymous persons, accounts held in Switzerland or Cayman or elsewhere around the world. I guess my point is that if we could tighten up the accounting procedures at the Pentagon, such funds in the future could be redirected to such things as healthcare. A pipe dream? Probably.
NYT doesn't do much for me. The Gray Lady is really just the premier propaganda outlet for the government.
Not according to MSU. https://msutoday.msu.edu/news/2017/...nment-spending-defense-department-to-conduct/
I guess it would be profound to someone who thinks you can use an accounting practice to pay for things. My car depreciated 2k dollars this year. What should I buy?
Quoted from the article: That's some grade A reporting right there. Only the government has the power to document undocumented activity... Once again an accounting adjustment is not the same as spending.
I'm already paying more to for those "subsidies" people like you enjoy so much.. Now i have to pay more taxes on top of that?
But if they can keep that money and force you and me to pay additional taxes for healthcare, all the better for them
Thanks. This was an interesting read and a matter of shocking incompetence. In the rest of the Government (and I thought this was the case with DOD) the budget process is a very rigorous process monitored by the OMB and subject to a yearly financial audit by a Big 4 accounting firm. As was pointed out by someone else, the the money you mention is now gone, but the unanswered question from what I read is where did the money come from? And where did it go? Or is this all the result of accounting errors?
So your answer to a bad situation is another bad situation but your solution increases taxes.. Again.
People who think they can competently re-engineer a multi trillion dollar system and everything will turn out exactly as they expect suffer from:
