Why do you think trump had anything at all to do with it? Every economic metric has been on the exact same unchanging upward trend since 2010. Does trump have a time machine?

The economy has not changed under trump. It’s been on the same trend line since 2010.

Great question, and one well worth contemplating at length.

One thing I find encouraging is that we're seeing more libertarian-minded people rising up through the ranks of the GOP. What worries me is that they won't rise to the top quick enough.

Another thing, I think Trump's candidacy was a unique phenomenon that only comes around once in a very long time. The last time I saw something like this was in 1980. I'm not comparing Trump to Reagan - what I'm comparing is the groundswell of grassroots support and how so many Democrats crossed party lines. There were a lot of similarities between 2016 and 1980 - the anemic economies, the widespread feeling of malaise, and a lot of pent up and frustrated energy in the grassroots Right.

Sometimes, the backdrop of an election has as much to do with who wins the election as the candidate himself/herself. 2016 wasn't about Trump - it was about the people who supported him.

I agree - I refused to support him until the general and even then I almost didn't vote.

One if my biggest problems with trump is the the anti-liberty effect he is having on the party. He's setting us back decades.

I note that someone else gets to define 'relevant' and your defense means that the President has no defense until the charges have been produced. That is not due process but instead a soviet show trial.

Impeachment was discussed but him wearing a tan suit isn't an impeachable offense. As for the investigations — the dozens and dozens of investigations — all along party lines and the general movement of the “party of no”.

Again, along party lines; but sure — add another investigation

Is that why they caused the mist number of shutdowns and the longest period of shutdowns? Is that why legislation constantly dies before a vote is even allowed in the senate. Storming secure chambers that they already have access to? Backtracking on previous positions they held when democrats were in control?

You refuted exactly zero of the list, what on it is not true because wage growth? (which I should have added indexed for inflation)

Trillion dollar deficits is not “doing well”.
Three fed reductions in two quarters is not “doing well”.
Manufacturing in recession is not “doing well”.
Billion dollar farm bailout (40% of their activity) is not “doing well”.

That is how past impeachment proceedings have been, did you have issue with them as well?
Do you believe calling Hunter Biden would have been immaterial?

    So?

Now, right on cue, here come the Obnoxious RW Memes...:roflol:

As predictable as fish in a barrel.:bored:

Good for Trump and the GOP.

It all spends the same, so who even cares who has more money?

The Dems will (easily) have enough to defeat Trump.

Trump (and the GOP) can only run so many negative ads before they cease to matter.

Oh, and back on topic, great to see the Impeachment Inquiry Resolution pass...:salute:

    So?

So everything the left does has precisely the opposite outcome of what was intended.

Dems have ignited Trumps base-and you will find out what that means over the next year.

Guess you didn't read the rules the Dems passed. Shift can refuse to allow Republican witnesses to testify or refuse them to ask certain questions of a witness. The President and his council are at the mercy of Shiff and then Nadler.

Doesn't matter because the Dems started attacking Trump before he was sworn in. Refused to take up issues Trump tried to work with them on even where it WAS an issue Dems previously supported and called for impeachment after he took office. They promised they would do whatever it took to Impeach him.. Obviously that meant by any means.

The Dems are doing this to interfere with the 2020 Election. So obvious.

They tried to interfere by trying to get dirt on Trump from Russia ooerativez, the Ukraine and other Countries. They tried to set him up.

I would never believe any funding of the House Committees.

They are all in with the Obama intelligence community.

My observation and I follow the hearings for last 3 years.

    Lame posting
Lol Do you think that after desperately needed missiles were held up due to Blackmail that Zelensky's going to shout all over the place that he was Blackmailed. Ukraine knew it would be in need of desperate help in the future after the funds were finally given to Ukraine at the behest of the Democrats who found out about the whole scheme.

You so easily swallow Trumps propaganda crap

Ukraine just threw a huge wrench into Trump's key defense denying a quid pro quo
    • "Ukrainian officials were told in early August that the US had frozen nearly $400 million in military aid to the country, The New York Times reported Wednesday.
    • The bombshell revelation throws a wrench into President Donald Trump's key defense to allegations that he dangled security assistance in exchange for politically motivated investigations.
      • Trump has claimed that because Ukraine didn't find out about the frozen aid until it was publicly reported in late August, there was no possibility of a quid pro quo.
      • But The Times' reporting found that Ukrainian officials had learned of the freeze weeks earlier — while Trump and his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani were trying to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to launch investigations meant to help Trump's 2020 campaign."

'Sept. 8 — In a phone call, Sondland tells Taylor that Trump, as a businessman, naturally wants something in return from Zelensky in exchange for U.S. security aid. “When a businessman is about to sign a check to someone who owes him something,” Taylor would later recall Sondland telling him, “the businessman asks that person to pay up before signing the check.” In his testimony to Congress, Taylor says he told Sondland “the explanation made no sense: the Ukrainians did not ‘owe’ President Trump anything, and holding up security assistance for domestic political gain was ‘crazy."

The whole process is so unfair that the Senate Trial may simply dismiss it in summary judgment.

Schiff Concerned Republicans Will Call Witnesses Just To ‘Smear’ Trump’s Opponents

What this gives us is a facinating insight into the warped totalitarians minds of the Democrats. Imagine you’re on trial. Prosecutors can call any witness they choose — and they can also reject any witness you want to call.

Sound insane? That’s exactly the process Democrats have set up for the impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) said Thursday that Democrats could refuse to allow Republicans to call some witnesses to testify, saying the GOP might “propose a bunch of witnesses that have no bearing, that they can use merely to smear the president’s opponents or for other improper purposes.”

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) ripped Schiff on Wednesday for shutting down questions from House Republicans during an impeachment inquiry hearing, calling it “a Soviet-style process.”

“That might be what they do in the Soviet Union, not the United States of America. We can’t stand for this, the American people are being denied equal justice,” Scalise said.

Scalise said the the resolution passed by a partisan vote in the House does allows Republicans to present subpoenas and call witnesses, they can only call ones that are “authorized” by Schiff.

“Adam Schiff, among many things, has been trying to claim that this is a fair process by saying that Republicans are allowed to ask questions,” Scalise told reporters. “Now he gets to choose all the witnesses, and him and himself only, which means it’s not a fair process on the face. But even his claim now, that Republicans can ask questions, has been undermined, because now he’s directing witnesses not to answer questions that he doesn’t want the witness to answer, if they’re asked by Republicans.

“He’s not cut off one Democrat, he’s not interrupted one Democrat and told a witness not to answer Democrat members’ questions, but today he started telling the witness not to answer questions by certain Republicans. That reeks,” he said.

Not that it makes a difference, but every time I see Schiff on the news of in a picture, he looks like a psycho. Especially his eyes. I wouldn't trust him further than by could throw him. So disinguine. " this is a sad day" blah blah, my behind. He makes me sick.

This is nothing but a Kagaroo Court run by the people(Schiff, Hillary, Brennan, Obama, Pelosi) we KNOW beyond any doubt, already committed open Quid-pro-quo with the officials in the Ukraine, because Biden, on video bragged about getting a prosecutor fired!

This is AGAIN, the Democrats outright lying to U.S. and accusing the Trump swamp-draining-crew, of doing exactly the crimes they are caught red-handed doing!

I WAS a Demorat for over two decades. I will NEVER vote for another Democrat, and their blatant abuse of power!

    *******n the Left!

It makes sense to allow the investigatory questioning to be private so that that witnesses don't influence and/or copy one another. This approach is sound. Most of the inquiry in Nixon/Clinton impeaches were done by special prosecutors behind closed doors. Also it make sense that in the public hearing portion that the Republicans be made to. proffer witnesses. Trump has been nothing but a bully during the impeachment process. He's also been defying the constitution by attempting to block witnesses and documents and by callinig democrats vicious names via tweets Many congressional Republicans have followed suite. They would like nothing better than to turrn the open hearing portion of this process into a circus. So yes it makes sense that the Republicans be curbed from calling witnesses who merely want to smear democrats and turn this into a circus.

And before she won more that 21/2 million votes than Trump Repugs were saying lock her up. Trump has been an inveterate liar since 2011.when he claimed that his investigators found astonishing things about Obama's BC. Then in 2016 Trump betrayed his followers by claiming that Obama was an American Citizen.

It makes sense to allow the investigatory questioning to be private so that that witnesses don't influence and/or copy one another. This approach is sound. Most of the inquiry in Nixon/Clinton impeaches were done by special prosecutors behind closed doors. He's also been defying the constitution by attempting to block witnesses and documents and by calling democrats vicious names via tweets Many congressional Republicans have followed suite. They would like nothing better than to allow name calling and the smearing of other witnesses during the public hearing portion. Schiff says republicans must proffer witnesses otherwise they would turn the open hearing portion of this process into a circus. So yes it makes sense that the Republicans be curbed from calling witnesses who merely want to smear and attack democrats and make mayhem of the proceedings . Looney Trump has been doing this right along this with his raging tweets. This isn't going to happen during the public hearing portion of this. The republicans will be curbed

Wow. Who cares how many popular votes she won? Trump won. The reason for the electoral college is so the big States with more voters can't over run the voters in States with less population. That's how it works. She was to stupid to figure that out apparently.

It does not make sense to hold impeachment inquiry behind closed doors, or to let a biased Chairman to leak only the parts of testimony he chooses to. Duh! It is not the same rules Republicans have Clinton.

It is obvious to and intelligent person that this is a total sham. One that started at the time he took office.

I don't want the status quo Congress, the do nothing Congress. They hate Trump because he is shaking the corrupt Congress up.

There is a deep State that has been working to interfere in our Elections. Perhaps more than the Russians.

CNN Chris Coumo is is a joke.

Enough already. Anyone that can't see what is going on, long before he took office, is a fool.

Good luck to you if the Democrat Socialist win. They will destroy economy, raise taxes on the middle class, destroy health care and the Medicare system we and our employers have paid into for years.

Millennials have no concept of Socialism. Wait until they get a job! I blame their Parents for not teaching them about civics and politics and making them work to help pay for College. Those that took out Fannie Mae loans, tied to the Federal Government, were stupid, because interest accrued from the time they got the loan while no payment was due until they graduated. So they owed far more than they borrowed and struggled to make payments when they graduated. That was their choice and their loan should not be forgiven at taxpayer expense.

And Trump didn't say lock her up as Chris Cuomo said tonight. Those attending the rally started that chant. I despise the liberal media. I despise liberal Hollywood. I and my friends stopped going to any movies with out spoken liberal actors. I despise anyone that boycotted the Presidents Inauguration.

If one of the Democratic Socialist actually win, I pitty them. They will be attacked verbally and politically for there entire first term. tit for tat.

You're dealing with Leftists here. Do you really expect them to understand the Constitution, why there is an Electoral College, and how it works?

If their candidate in the last Presidential election didn't get it why should her followers?
