Schiff just induced the most boo's from the other side when he analogized Trump not being guilty because he got caught and then releasing the money to a police officer refusing to accept your bribe.

 

Despicable and disgusting! Democrats lying that these aren't fabricated charges when they know they are and that they have been pushing for impeachment since November 2016, more than 2 months prior to the inauguration. But, November 2020 is coming and then we get 4 more years of President Donald Trump! Welcome to today and to tomorrow!

 

Trump denied congress’ request for information. He’s legally entitled to do that and then tell congress, “Take your case to court”.

The Dems never took it to court. There is no court order forcing Trump to comply with congress’ requests. Because of that, there is no “obstruction of congress” or “obstruction of justice”.

 

Which is just more fiction from Schiff. He is so wrapped up in lies he can't keep them all straight and they will come back to haunt the Democrats.

 

I disagree. You have reversed where the onus truly lies. You get a subpoena, you have two options, (a) comply or (b) refer it yourself to a Court to get a determination on its validity.

the Senate can still try to call those witnesses, was enough to impeach as is....

if the Senate thinks they need those witnesses, they will have to call them, if Trump refuses, then it proves the obstruction

if Trump lets them speak, then that one could be dropped

 

You probably won't get anywhere trying to convince any of the liberal Trump-haters here of that fact anymore than I have.... They simply cannot countenance the idea that the President of the United States doesn't have to get down on his knees and stick out his tongue every time somebody in an opposition party wants to have their asses LICKED....

Because it's bullshit as he's still on the bribery claim, yet never introduced bribery into the articles of impeachment.

His analogy would be more accurate if it went more like lawyer sees man on side of road with a cop behind him. Cop is having a lovely discussion with the driver, talking about the officers new promotion and the driver ask the officer "hey, could you patrol my neighborhood a little more? There has been some crime.". Lawyer hears and attempts to prosecute driver claiming "He tried to bribe the officer".

The Dems could have taken this up the ladder and tried to get a court to force Trump to comply. They chose not to. They preferred to rush this.

Trump isn’t guilty of “obstruction of congress”, but even if he was, that’s not a crime.

And if the Dems expect the Senate to call any “witnesses” that didn’t testify in the House, they’re crazy. It’s the job of the House to investigate. It’s not the role of the jury (the Senate) to do the investigation.

 

Yep, the next dems move.... mental problems.. dementia or Alzheimer's.

 

The rushed investigation is finished. Dems don’t get a do-over.

A theory posited yesterday (I forget by whom), is that Pelosi gave new Democrats in Trump districts a choice.

Either vote for impeachment and risk losing in the general election, or vote against and risk losing in the primary.

Since any of them would almost assuredly lose in a primary, it shows that they put their jobs above their consciences and country.
