This clown show is so bad that Pelosi had to put out a memo reminding democrats not to do a jig when they pass impeachment.
It wasn't a joke. And I can point to Donald Trump's own statement from that same day as proof. Later in that press conference, another reporter asked him whether it was dangerous to ask a foreign government to become involved in domestic politics and he essentially said, "I just want those emails and if they can help, then they should." (This is going by memory, so the specifics will be off). The distinction there is not really substantive in my mind. Trump was inviting foreign interference in a US election regardless of whether the Russians reacted by targeting a Hillary Clinton server or a DNC/DCC server.
Well, there's nothing in the constitution against it(as you said, it doesn't specify a timeline). In law terms, we would call it a sealed indictment. The best possible outcome for Democrats would be to rally the Democratic base, attain said Democratic Senate on which where they'll be able to impeach Donald Trump. It's a dastardly beautiful political ploy, and for those who hate how Garland was treated, it'd be karmic blowback to use the same strategy. The key though is to actually win the Democratic Senate.
You are still dodging. Do not expect me to answer your strawman until you can actually answer. Trump asked China and Ukraine to investigate his domestic political opponent while standing on the lawn of the White House. He also asked Russia to release illegally obtained emails of his domestic political opponent to the Press. That is not an invitation to interfere in the US election because it is free speech? That's your argument?
One could also argue, and I just thought of this as a really strong statement the Democrats could take: "You asked for the right to decide whether or not the President should be impeached. We'll give it to you. In this election, you can personally decide whether to acquit or to impeach the President."
But this will help Trump. Everyone should know that anyone trying to expose the graft and corruption in government will not be tolerated. If Trump was not accused of wrongdoing would mean he is not doing his job. To me this is a good things. It like turning on the lights at night. The roaches are exposed.
Trump has done nothing wrong in regards to Ukraine. the facts are not of the democrats side so they fabricated fake articles of impeachment.
No, I don't see how they could push it all the way until the next election. Even if you got an outcome where Democrats won the Senate and Trump won the White House (an exceptionally unlikely outcome), then you still need 67 votes in the Senate to remove and launching subpoenas at that time would almost certainly not yield the additional ~15 GOP votes.
You are the one building the strawman, you just can't accept that Hillary lost the last election and that Hillary, Obama and the DNC paid for foreign interference. The onus is on you and the DNC to prove otherwise because we have all the evidence already and Barr and Durham have an open criminal investigation into all of this. Nor can the democrats in office and they are trying to undo an election.
Gunk up McConnell's plan to make the impeachment trial as quick and painless as possible and thus encourage him to agree with subpoenas/testimony of additional witnesses.
Yeah? That's what she said?? Really?? Guess again... And I mean that... GUESS again.... I mean, seriously... do ANY of you have access to the Google App??
Or draining the swamp which he campaigned on and the swamp isn't liking it. Once he said he was going to shine that light on corruption is the day they said "No you're not. We are going to impeach this m*****f*****!"
Then.... with apologies to the other poster... The American voter will decide whether or not Trump is removed from office. Then the majority will quite possibly be a majority in both houses. The dems.... as said before are committing political suicide.
no guessing needed.. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told fellow Democrats it would be “dangerous” to skip impeachment and wait for the 2020 election to determine whether President Trump should remain in office. washington examiner November 18 2019 2:46 PM your wrong i'm right, now as a good person you should apologize!
Trump is proving that the establishment Democrats in office are not fit to serve the people and they can't tell the truth. They are just driven by their hatred and their loss in 2016. When they lose in 2020, I hope the American people with the aid of Barr and Durham, make sure they never regain power to inflict this on the United States again.
And where in that does she say Trump is too dangerous... "Nancy Pelosi said Trump was too dangerous" He is, but that's not what she said.... Apology accepted...
Actually, what she said is that the democrats can't rely on the American voters to not reelect Trump. Here memo went (paraphrased) on saying it is simply too dangerous to let voters decide what happens in 2020
If they won the Senate, we can assume hypothetically that they'd have the 67 votes even without the GOP. IE: Like the current Democratic House right now. Sure, that doesn't *look* likely, but if impeachment is as favorable as Democrats believe, doing it this way could yield benefits to everyone involved(see my post on how they could best spin it), if they do it carefully enough.
I'm heading home, but I just wanted to report the latest reporting on where every Congressman stands on impeachment (according to a Washington Post analysis - found here [I used incognito mode to get around the paywall]) There are 227 votes in favor of both articles of impeachment (all Democrats and one Independent) There is 1 vote in favor of one article of impeachment (Jared Golden - D) There are 197 votes against both articles (all Republicans and two Democrats [Collin Peterson and Jeff Van Drew]) There are 3 Democrats who have not said as yet: Tulsi Gabbard Ron Kind David Scott Looks like my initial over/under of 5.5 might end up being EXACTLY spot on if you count Golden as a 0.5, LOL.
right there black and white,, waiting for your much deserved apology or are you admitting to being a bad person?
