That would be the one that I cited from and linked to previously ... Yup - and the one introduced into the Senate by Paul. https://gabbard.house.gov/news/StopArmingTerrorists

Its aimed at anyone who is in the seat of power - and would want to use Al Qaeda and ISIS - as a proxy army - as was done in Syria.

"Under U.S. law it is illegal for any American to provide money or assistance to al-Qaeda, ISIS or other terrorist groups. If an American citizen gave money, weapons or support to al-Qaeda or ISIS, he or she would be thrown in jail. Yet the U.S. government has been violating this law for years, quietly supporting allies and partners of al-Qaeda, ISIL, Jabhat Fateh al Sham and other terrorist groups with money, weapons, and intelligence support, in their fight to overthrow the Syrian government. The CIA has also been funneling weapons and money through Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar and others who provide direct and indirect support to groups like ISIS and al-Qaeda. This support has allowed al-Qaeda and their fellow terrorist organizations to establish strongholds throughout Syria, including in Aleppo."

The bill specifically targets Obama - as he was the one who committed the crimes alluded to.

It wasn't Trump who directed the CIA to funnel weapons and money through Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar (and others - Croatia, Bulgaria Serbia and so on) who were directly supporting the the anti Assad proxy army - which was led by Al Qaeda and ISIS.

What part of ... Global effort - to arm, supply and support the anti Assad proxy army - are you not getting ?

You have tried to lull yourself to sleep at night .. holding on tight to the "its the moderates we were arming" false narrative. State sponsored propaganda ... a complete lie.

When you put those two pieces of the puzzle together - as the history books have already done - it does not make for the most desirable legacy material - if you are Obama or a supporter .. which I once was btw.

War crimes - Crimes against humanity .. the USA will be found guilty. We are already under investigation for complicity in war crimes in Yemen... and Yemen is not anywhere close to our close connection to Syria - and direct involvement in crimes - with full knowledge of what we were doing.

The DIA was telling Obama in 2012 - "there are no moderates" That anti Assad forces were almost all Radical Islamist Jihadists That was in early 2012 ..not a year into the war. By the next year - almost all of Syria was taken over by our Jihadist proxy army- all with the same desire - to turn Syria into Totalitarian Strict Sharia nightmare - dark age style

General Flynn - director of the Director of the DIA during this time period .. is on record stating that they sent in warnings to the White House - and that the information went unheeded.

The main groups initially were Al Qaeda/Al Nusra Islamic Front - and a bunch of smaller who mainly followed the bigger groups. It doesn't matter what the names of the groups are - its all the same Saudi Inspired extremist Salafi Islamist ideology.

In late 2013 many of these groups - and tens of thousands of foreign fighters who heeded the call to Holy Jihad - to fight for the new caliphate they have all been dreaming of.

The main anti Assad Rebel forces from this point are ISIS and Al Qaeda -

You can find hundreds of sources detailing "no moderate rebels' I have links to NYTimes articles if you like. This is because up until 2014 - there was no reason to not report this... these papers and journalists were just reporting the facts. After 2014 the Times quickly forgot its previous reporting - knowing that Obama's Moderate Rebel narrative was false but keeping mum.

The "Moderate Rebel Lie" came about when our ISIS dog in Syria went off its leash in 2014 and went into Iraq. Now we had a problem - we were allied with ISIS in Syria - but fighting them in Iraq.

This problem was described by Rand Paul in 2014 on CNN's Sunday Morning Program "State of the Union.
    http://cnnpressroom.blogs.cnn.com/2...-my-son-into-that-mess-on-the-crisis-in-iraq/

So this comment by you "There was a search for moderates to fight Assad, but there is no indication Obama purposely armed Al Qaeda." is a false narrative implanted in your head via state sponsored propaganda.

You can try to deceive yourself - claiming "Rand Paul" and the head of the DIA - and the 13 cosponsors in congress- and Tulsi Gabbard - Richard Black and numerous others .. they are all Crazy ... Crazy talk.

If this were not true - (and we know know that it was true from other sources)

Rand Paul has just claimed " We are not only arming but allied with ISIS and Al Qaeda in Syria" - is this not news ? The front page headline on every newspaper and lead story - should have been "Congressman Paul accuses Obama of arming Al Qaeda - 911 Terrorist group"
    '
Instead we got Crickets. Not even the Obama Hating right wing FOX would touch it.

I challenge you to go listen to Black speak on Syria for an hour - its on the web - easy to find .. google Richard Black .. Syria.

Paul sounded as confused as you do.
The law only passed a few weeks ago.
Obama was long gone when it was being pushed.
I'm not denying some of the hardware fell into the wrong hands, but that problem was recognized at the time.

The Obama Administration must be careful to provide arms only to heavily vetted groups within the Syrian opposition that reject Islamist extremism and support the goal of an inclusive, democratic post-Assad Syria that welcomes the participation of non-Sunni Arab Syrian minorities (i.e. Christians, Druze, Kurds and Alawites).

He’s not going for a Nobel prize, nor submitting for peer review, he is probably expressing a thought on the fly while hurrying off to work. Give it a rest, Mr. Pedantic.

You're more than likely right but of all the thread titles calling for a little extra caution would be one about education.

As a general principle, you should always be as grammatically accurate as possible as it is the best way to communicate your thoughts. And yes especially on a thread about education. But I still cut him some slack. I understood it. Still, yours is valid.

Everyone who complains about grammatically correct communication should be careful. Lacking a subject, this is a pretty shaky sentence.

There is absolutely no reference to Obama in any of your claimed bills before Congress. Most of your utterances are more related to bogus propaganda from Brietbart news and the like.

The opinions, not fact of two republican congressman without any research reference has as much truthfulness as any thing from Trump’s mouth. Trump has been lying about Obama since he bit on to the birther hoax. I suppose you’re into that too.

You obviously fell for the “ arming terrorist scam” and are stumbling around trying to put pieces together to sound less and less dilusional....which at this point is impossible.

Why did you post this ? - of course that was what was said publicly.. you are repeating the "Moderate Rebel Lie"

I realize you are having trouble coming to grip with the reality that the Obama Admin - and the nation really - intentionally armed Al Qaeda in Syria - but that is the reality.

The entire opposition were Islamist extremists - united in their goal of turning Syria into a Strict Sharia wonderland.

So if there was no moderate opposition of any significance - and we were giving sophisticated military equipment to "someone" - who was it going to ?

and if the opposition is dominated by extremists - giving weapons to non- extremists is still helping the extremist opposition.

"I'm not denying some of the hardware fell into the wrong hands, but that problem was recognized at the time"

You are in complete denial - of the fact that the Administration intentionally facilitated - and funded - the moving of massive amounts of arms to Islamist Extremist Rebels in Syria.

The above is absurd gibberish - and you are projecting. The law 2 weeks ago does not change the fact that Obama armed a radical Islamist proxy army in Syria ..

Running around claiming that Paul is confused - along with the 13 co-signatories to the "Stop Arming Terrorist Act" Gabbard the Defense Intelligence agency .. the director of the DIA at the time - and so on.

What part of the above statement - do you not understand ?

I have never used Breitbart as a source - so not sure why you are harping on it - sans your desperate desire to deny reality - of which you have nothing so you are reduced to a blubbering pile of gibberish. .

One source I did use however, was Joe Biden - along with numerous other bipartisan in congress.

So rather than address some fake news site that I did not mention - Address what was stated before Congress - by Tulsi Gabbard - as the justification for the "Stop Arming Terrorist Act" - cosponsored by 13 bipartisan in congress.

You are reeling in blind partisan denial - and are completely unable to cope with the facts - so all you can do is make false accusations.

What part of Trump being President when the bill was written don't you understand?

The Stop Arming Terrorists Act is a proposed Act of Congress that was originally sponsored by United States Representative for Hawaii's 2nd congressional district Tulsi Gabbard and United States Senator for Kentucky Rand Paul in early 2017 to prohibit the use of United States Government funds to provide assistance to Al Qaeda, Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and to countries supporting those organizations, and for other purposes.[1]

As of November 2017, 14[1] other lawmakers out of 435 United States House of Representatives have co-sponsored Gabbard’s House bill. Paul’s Senate version of the bill, on the other hand, has zero cosponsors.[2]

On December 20, 2019, the Senate passed S. 1790, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 became law with § 1228 stating:

How soon you forget who wanted to arm the Syrians.

The senators, John McCain of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, both Republicans, laid out a series of diplomatic, humanitarian and military aid proposals that would put the United States squarely behind the effort to topple President Bashar al-Assad of Syria. The senators, both of whom are on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said that rebel fighters deserved to be armed and that helping them take on the Syrian government would aid Washington’s effort to weaken Iran.

I've thought a lot about this subject over the past few years.
(I'm one of the early members of this forum and haven't posted in a long time due to the fact its occupied by people incapable of rational discourse now) but....

This entire thread started with a logical fallacy -- using anecdotal evidence to support a claim. A few people in the 1600+ posts on this pointed that out, but they did it subtlety and I'm sure no one but the educated people noticed.

I theorize that the real difference to the educated versus the uneducated (on the whole, not anecdotally) is that to get a college degree or especially a higher degree, you have to defend and argue points to highly educated people who are fully cognizant of logic and logically fallacies. The tricks of persuading people are well known and educated people know how not to get tricked. Someone beat me to the punch, but " I once saw a blue swan; therefore all swans are blue" or for you uneducated people "I know a high school drop out who is rich..... "

I'm confident there are hundred of thousands of highly intelligent logical people, but they aren't the norm. And just because you are wealthy has ****-all to do with if you are intelligent. (See Inheritence, See Con Men). Just because you can convince old white people to buy gold coins doesn't meant you're educated.

An additional component of being educated is reading and staying informed. Sharing videos of "Conservative owns *******" isn't making you smarter. Knowing, without looking up, exactly what Mick Mulvaney espoused while serving in congress, or what the Glass-Steagall Act was, or understanding how the Masterpiece cake case was limited in scope, is what makes you educated. Going to college and acquiring degrees is far more likely to lead you to be educated than going it alone and trying to self-educate.

A lot verbiage that fails to explain Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, nor for that matter, Leopold and Loeb.
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopold_and_Loeb

“Leopold, who graduated from the University of Chicago at age 18, spoke nine languages and had an IQ of 200, but purportedly had perverse sexual desires. Loeb, also unusually gifted, graduated from college at 17 and was fascinated with criminal psychology.”—https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.hi...tory/leopold-and-loeb-gain-national-attention

Perhaps the difference is not between the educated and the uneducated, but between those who choose to exercise their free will and think, and those that choose to behave like Hippies (emotions) and Pavel’s Dog (imprinting), and act on feelings.

Could it be that I still remember Obama's struggle to find moderate rebels and you don't?

Romney called for the United States and partner nations to “arm the opposition so they can defend themselves” against the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad, but White House press secretary Jay Carney warned that would lead to more “chaos and carnage” and was “not the right course.”

The deep divide highlighted the realpolitik approach in Syria favored by an Obama administration focused on convincing Syrian ally Russia to pressure Assad and concerned about where weapons intended for insurgents might end up.

It also offered an opening of sorts for Romney — who clinched the Republican nomination on Tuesday night — to hammer Obama on foreign policy, which has been one of the president’s biggest strengths during his time in office.

All you did was prove you have no idea what I said. I pointed out the flaw of anecdotal evidence to which you provided anecdotal evidence.
Then you conflated educated with sexual morals.

I'd try to explain more to you, but clearly you wouldn't understand. Now go forth and spread your memes.

It cannot be said that being uneducated or being educated is the determining factor in the choice between being a moral person, or being a manipulated fool or a manipulative ass—it’s what one does with what one has to achieve the best within oneself. That’s the determining factor.

It’s not your ignorance nor your brilliance that makes you moral, it’s living up to the best within oneself. In other words, an individual with Down Syndrome who lives up to his best is just as moral as the genius who finds the cure for cancer.

Ayn Rand: “Learn to distinguish the difference between errors of knowledge and breaches of morality. An error of knowledge is not a moral flaw, provided you are willing to correct it; only a mystic would judge human beings by the standard of an impossible, automatic omniscience. But a breach of morality is the conscious choice of an action you know to be evil, or a willful evasion of knowledge, a suspension of sight and of thought. That which you do not know, is not a moral charge against you; but that which you refuse to know, is an account of infamy growing in your soul.”—http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/errors_of_knowledge_vs_breaches_of_morality.html

What your suggesting is that the educated are less likely to be fooled by a demagogue than the educated, yet Che Guevara and Maduro are heroes to college educated Progressives, and Davey Crocket and Ronald Reagan are heroes to blue collar worker. How’s that fit your premise?

You are the one who has very little clue about what happened in Syria - Not I. Obama made a huge deal about finding "moderates" - it was part of the "Moderate Rebel Lie".

Some background - random article - of which there are hundreds - from the Guardian "The CIA has been arming Syrian rebels for years. - Nobody should be surprised that the US’s newest effort was revealed an abject failure"https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/sep/19/us-weapons-to-syria-repeats-historical-mistake

Note this article is from 2015 - it was already an open secret that the CIA had armed the rebels prior to Obama announcing that he was going to arm the rebels in 2014 (for reasons I - and Rand Paul - have already told you - our dog ISIS went off the leash and into Iraq).

and it is Biden in 2014 that told you that there were no "moderates" in Syria

and the Defense Intelligence agency said this in early 2012 -

    http://www.judicialwatch.org/wp-con...12-DOD-Release-2015-04-10-final-version11.pdf

Same thing from the NY-Times in 2013 - prior to the propaganda machine ramping up the "Moderate Rebel Lie"

What more do you want - Biden - DIA - NYT - There was no moderate rebel "front line" - this was a holy war being fought by radical Islamist Jihadists.

You are talking about the program in 2014 - when we formally announced that we were going to try to find some moderates - and were completely unsuccessful - turned out to be an unmitigated disaster - as Obama knew it would be because he already knew there was no moderate fighting force to speak of. So they thought to create on out of thin air.

Obamas 2014 actions have nothing to do with the fact that prior to this - we led a global effort to arm, supply, and support a radical Islamist Proxy army. The purpose of this action was to cover up a crime.

Why does a degree preclude your father from teaching you how? IF you cant change a tire it is your parents fault, and that is one thing that can be laid on the feet of the parents. Every guy I know taught their sons and most taught their daughters how to change a tire and add water to the radiator after it cooled down and how to check the oil and washer fluid.
