Well, that's the way the old justice ball bounces. If the House can't handle it they should get out of the business. If the police or a prosecutor is prosecuting an assumed bank robber but cannot get sufficient evidence they drop the case and move on. They do not go into the courtroom and ask the judge to help them out. The judge would help them out all right, right out the door.

I have no problem hearing any witness during the trial. Far different from the House due process will be followed in the Senate and I suspect the president might be more open to letting some of his people testify. I am a bit perplexed though why you and others believe Bolton or any of the other witnesses are going to pull the House's ass out of the ditch. Do you know something nobody else knows or it it just more wishful fantasy?

Yes they do! They go to a judge and ask for a search warrant. Because only a judge can issue search warrants. Just like only the Senate can issue subpoenas in an impeachment trial.

I suspect the President will have a fit if any of his people testify. I can see the tweet right now "Executive Privilege has been abolished" Never-mind the fact that he has never invoked executive privilege because it doesn't apply.
