Could a Draft Cuomo movement be in the democrats future?

This would probably be the best election for Cuomo to run. His star is presently shining bright. But he would have to get around Biden, and that just isn't going to happen. Democrats are too smart.

New York City has identified about twenty thousand cases of Coronavirus (pdf file). Hospitalization rate is probably 5%. The Fake News media, social and traditional, is telling us that New York City’s hospital system is buckling. Buckling under the pressure of a thousand new, hospitalized patients? New York, as we know, is, along with Washington, DC, the primary obvious potential terrorist target in the U.S. With the threat of biological terrorism, dirty bombs, etc., they have no contingency plans to expand hospitals capacity by tens of thousands quickly? If a thousand new hospital patients in a week or so can bring down the entire NYC hospital system, they have a serious preparedness problem.

 

A stiff breeze could knock Joe down and get past him at this point.

 

At least Democrats realize they have a flawed candidate this time around, last election I’d say two thirds of their voting base were convinced that Hillary walked on water.

I have this same question. New Yorkers are dying from the Chinese virus by the refrigerated trailer-full, and the Dems think the guy in charge in New York is the guy Americans will want to elect to govern the whole the country? Seriously?

The Federal Government is supposed to assist and support state governments who lead the efforts and preparedness for their own states. It is becoming clear that was lacking in New York and now the governor is trying to point fingers. There's reports tonight the Federal Government sent them several thousands respirators and they are sitting in a warehouse.

NY governor Cuomo has certainly surfaced as the leading spokesman for countering the deadly Coronavirus in this pandemic. I was not familiar with Cuomo before the pandemic, since I don't reside in NY. But he's been persuasive & impressive as a leader. His level of transparency, concern for the public good, & his ability to use facts, are all light years ahead of Trump's. I would certainly give him serious consideration as a potential candidate for the Presidency, though I feel it's probably too late for him to become a serious contender for delegates this year.

I think it's possible. He comes across good at his coronovirus briefings. Then if he happened to get elected (he won't, but....) there would be some attendant benefits: the government would finally take away our guns, every woman could get at birth abortions, we would end fracking and energy independence, and maybe transplant every large city away from the coast. (If you missed it, this is cynicism.)

That isn't even the point.

The idea of picking a VP to win a certain state isn't even on the table.

In fact, on that Short List, the only VP pick who could even marginally help in a Swing State is Cortez Masto.

Since CA, MI, MN, and NV are Already LOCKS, but Cortez Masto (being a Latina from a neighboring state) could play well in the effort to flip AZ to the Dems.

 

Michigan is no lock. And if I remember correctly, Minnesota was close in 2016.

 

YES. MI is a LOCK (and so is MN).

The only (even remote) circumstance where I could see Trump Winning either state would be in the unlikely situation of a 50-State Sweep.

But, outside of that, MI and MN are Locks.
