    Recklessly hyping any drug is irresponsible. There are always gullible folks who will swallow the hype of frauds.

    It is tragic that people infected with COVID-19 have killed themselves by taking hydroxychloroquine, and that more are at risk for doing so because a slick politician with no medical expertise decided to hype it, especially when there are competent individuals dedicated to developing any drug that proves to be efficacious. And, among the medications being tested is hydroxychloroquine, and it will, like any other possible drug, be expedited if the results so dictate.
    Just remember, you can't sue a con man for a fake sales pitch if you're dead.

    Look past your veneration of Trump. His hyping Trump Air Lines, Trump Vodka, Trump Mortgage, Trump Catering, Trump Casinos, Trump University, and Trump Hydroxychloroquine does not mean that you must swallow them all.

    It shouldn't cost more money if our dollar is stronger. We need to revive our country again, and stop relying on the INTL Community. Because the INTL Community(wisely) doesn't rely on the USA.

    You realize clinical trials are giving the drugs to patients and then recording the results right? There's literally NO difference between having a trial and giving them the drugs "off-ordered" as the FDA did.

    What special pharmacological qualifications does Trump have to hype one drug among all that are deemed worthy of clinical trials for the treatment of COVID-19 by those most qualified and au courant in their relative potential?

    Yes, he insists that he knows more than anyone in an incredibly broad range of subjects (See https://www.axios.com/everything-tr...ody-b278b592-cff0-47dc-a75f-5767f42bcf1e.html) but I would prefer that those whose curriculum vitae is primarily in branding, casino operations, and reality-tv entertainment not pretend they are authorities in pharmacology.

    Is there any evidence that this embarrassing instance of self-adulation is anything other than his usual narcissistic bullshit?

    You appear to be confused. Where have I "condemned" Hydroxychloroquine or any other drug?

    As I have noted, there are over twenty drugs currently in clinical trials, and those that show promise will receive more attention than those that do not. Prematurely concentrating on any one would retard the development of others that could prove more efficacious.

    That is standard pharmacological developmental practice, and is not impacted by casino operators and reality-tv entertainers hyping any particular drug they may take a fancy to.

    Remdesivir, a nucleotide analogue prodrug that inhibits viral RNA polymerases, has shown in vitro activity against SARS-CoV-2.
