Tl;Dr--It is ALL the Democrats fault?:bored:

Let me know if I missed anything.
    Thanks in advance.

Now, back to the Actual Topic (about Alex Jones) an OP that didn't even mention the Big Bad "Democrats":

Jones is clearly off of rocker, and Jones' entire concept of a "prison planet" is beyond absurd.

    Carry on.:salute:

Absurd answer on your part. When was it time to close things down? You take the best science and medical advice and
go from there, right? Did Trump declare a National Emergency, or did he not? Did Trump restrict travel or did he not?

No Republican state had a "lockdown"? Most did.
I live in a Republican state and we had a "lockdown" The Governor has since eased some of the restrictions. Is my state part of this socialist plot?
Didn't the President of the United States set a policy which he read on TV declaring what criteria needed to be met to end the "lockdowns?" Is he a neo communist?
How many states actually had a lockdown? None, but many placed restrictions on travel.
I do not love the restrictions and hope that they will be removed in safe increments as quickly as they can be, but I realize this is not an all or nothing issue common sense indicates we do this in steps.

Well then we both agree I am for those things too. As a matter of fact there is no reason for that to happen to anyone.

Yes, all of the dead children at Sandy Hook were actors and beware the human-fish babies.

You are a fan of a lunatic and con man. The only fake is him. And he admitted it in court when his ex wife took his children away because he is too dangerous to be allowed around children.

Alex Jones is a psychopath. He thinks 9-11 was not done by Arabs but my the Bush admin with explosives and fake planes

he thinks all the sandy hook deaths were fake.

he thinks all big mass-shootings are government operations.

he even told his listeners on the eve of 2000 that a nuclear power plant in Texas had gone down

he is a crazy man and should be ignored

If being in favor of freedom makes me juvenile, then so be it. I'd rather be juvenile than a cowardly authoritarian.

When has government, as an institution, given up its powers willingly?

    He was right.

The ruling classes have turned the planet into a giant, open-air prison.

Our civil liberties, which our ancestors fought and died for, are suspended indefinitely.

Governments around the world have almost total power over our lives. That makes us prisoners and slaves.

And now that food supplies are being disrupted by the economic depression that you've inflicted on society, we run the risk of becoming hungry prisoners and slaves.

Actually, the ones having a tantrum are the bed-wetting authoritarians who've ruined society and thrown our civil liberties into the garbage because of a virus that poses virtually zero threat to 99% of the population.

Using JFK to justify a draconian suspension of civil liberties? Are you freaking serious?

Pretty sure when he said that, he wasn't talking about sacrificing all your most basic freedoms, your job, your business, and your dignity.

Still, he was pretty on the nose about that one. You are now a prisoner. You don't have civil rights anymore, you have privileges. And the government will decide what privileges you're allowed to have, if any.

I have argued that it was never time to lock everyone down. I did, several times, advocate for active quarantining of those infected, the closure of international borders etc to contain the spread of the virus. That doesn't mean that this administration followed my preferences, because they did not. To put a super fine point on it though, even in the absence of travel, of being confined, the virus still spread, has it no? And since we're talking about it, where has personal responsibility for one's health gone? As in, I make an active decision to venture out, or not, to go into public arenas with others, etc. It's a choice. My area isn't very effected, and frankly, the lockdown hasn't actually accomplished much given our total infection rate here. A county or two over, there aren't any cases. And there are many of those in this state. I would remind you that "restricting travel" and isolating an epidemic is more about limiting the outbreak than limiting your liberties.

My thought on this is that if China had actually done their part in effectively isolating this epidemic, we wouldn't be here talking about it now.

It won't be close to normal until it's close to normal. And we are very, very far from normal right now.

That's a strange request. I merely claimed that the lockdown won't be permanent. I stand by that. What power do you think the government gains if the lockdown is made permanent? That would be economical suicide, which hurts everyone eventually. The government and the elite a little later than others, but it would still be irrational.

He has no legitimate answer because he never established objectively what "safe" actually means, how to balance it with civil liberties, and under what specific conditions that balance may be disrupted in favor of safety.

He just wants the government to crack down indefinitely until his emotions are back under control. And he expects everyone else to submit because he cannot imagine a world where other people are allowed to ignore his wishes.

History is not on your side. Because governments almost never relinquish power willingly. It simply isn't in their nature to do so.

    Is this a serious question?

How is it economic suicide for the elites? Walmart, Amazon, Microsoft, JP Morgan, Lockheed Martin... all still in business. Meanwhile, their smaller competitors are being shut down and destroyed, which will allow the bigger corporations to further consolidate the market. And since the government is under the control of large corporations anyway, any power gained by government is therefore gained by them. They will have total control over basically everything. And you think they're going to give it up?
