There aren't and they all died away as Democrats and that hatred which existed in the Democrat party died with them. It was the Democrat party that fought the CRA and VRA.

Mmm, that's a little disingenuous. Slavery had been outlawed in all of the northern states, and very few remained as late as 1840. At the outbreak of the Civil War the slave states that stayed in the Union were Maryland, Missouri, Delaware, and Kentucky, and were referred to as the border states. Because of the Fugitive Slave Act, a :democrat: could bring a slave to a northern state and maintain ownership. In 1860 about 30% of Southern :democrat: families owned a slave contrary to the popular leftist "very few owned slaves" b.s..

How many Republicans in the entire country owned a slave(s)?

They were states of the United States, the North, where slavery was legal before the war, during the war and after the war.

Republican by any other name ...

The National Union Party was the temporary name used by the Republican Party for the national ticket in the 1864 presidential election that was held during the Civil War. For the most part, state Republican parties did not change their name.[1] The temporary name was used to attract War Democrats and border states, Unconditional Unionists and Unionist Party members who would not vote for the Republican Party. The party nominated incumbent Republican President Abraham Lincoln and for Vice President Democrat Andrew Johnson, who were elected in an electoral landslide.

No. That isn't true at all, Cubed. Unification was probably more important because without that, you really have no nation to govern.

But the abolishment of slavery was important as well. Lincoln detested slavery. If it wasn't, then the 13th would have never been ratified and passed once the nation was secured and back under 1 government. BTW, the only reason it took so long to get the 13th passed was because Democrats opposed it. The required 2/3rd's it needed in the House didn't pass until Jan 19865. Republicans introduced the bill and passed it in April 1864.

My explanation is quite clear. You'd be hard pressed to find any authoritative text that refers to the border slave states as "northern."

The claim made by the poster you replied to has been one of the most pervasive bits of fake news that I can remember. It's mind boggling, but understandable when one understands the extent that progressives use race as a political weapon. It's integral to their strategy.

I made nothing up. Trump said what he said. The first day after the unrest in Charlottsville, he issued a nice politically correct statement. The next day he issued the "good people on both sides" comment.
He should have stuck with his first politically correct statement (that was written for him of course). But, no, he had to speak from his heart---that's Trump for you.

I admit, I've been shocked at how long it's gone on as real news, but when the news reports their fake news as fact, it continues on and on.

Southern conservatives supported slavery then and now, regardless of the party they belonged too

which party today refuses to move Confederate flags and statues from State house lawns and the center of towns?

Trump was even endorsed by the kkk

LBJ, a Democrat President, helped pass both of those bills. He made sure his Democrat colleagues in Congress voted for the Civil Rights bill and Voting Rights bill.

Historic racism is not responsible for anything happening currently. Systemic racism doesn’t exist. It is a fantasy created to justify racism towards whites through policy and culture.

Oh man, I have to say to all democrats, thank you very much for making this ass clown you're nominee. Just how God awful stupid can this moron be?
Thank you thank you thank you.
I ask again and I shall announce this as my 100th time asking this question with still no answer. What has Trump ever done that would make a black person fear him or dislike him?
Nothing is the word you are looking for.

And as Old Joe said, they ain't black....Wonder why they shelter him so much lol. An upper 70's white guy can't explain why a young black guy should vote for him and says if he doesn't he ain't black. Then all the white lefties run on here to back him, says a lot about the white dems and how they feel about the African American voter.

And he was clearly referring to the people that wanted to keep the statues & those that wished them gone. The president did disparage the white supremacists.

BTW, the white supremacists were led by Jason Kessler & Richard Spencer. Both of whom are :democrat: party operatives. Kessler worked for obozo's re-election, and the Occupy movement.

There's a nice YouTube interview of Spencer admitting he's a far left socialist.

You just leave out that he said he wasn't talking about the neo Nazis etc., it's right there in the quote above. Hey it's no big deal, we get it, you think an old upper 70s white guy can determine who's black.

    Yes. Nothing.

It says nothing about race and there is nothing needed to know.

As Peter Strzok said: there's no there, there.

I'm not backing him... it's kind of a silly thing to say, but it's not egregious enough to move the needle...

Trump got 8% of the black vote in 2016... 10% would be a Yuge gain, which I frankly don't see happening... but people vote against their personal safety and interests all the time...

That 8-10% of the black vote is, of course, black... by definition

Democrats are obsessed with race sex and religion, so mush so that the most important thing to them about their vice presidential nominee its race sex and religion.
