The Weathermen haven't been around for some decades, and they were mainly a reaction against Daly's use of police brutality against peaceful protestors at the 1968 convention.

I'd be happy for that to be true, but it isn't. Black clad anarchists/communists are playing their own game and have been for decades. They try to hijack otherwise peaceful protests for publicity. They try to provoke violent responses from police to show the 'violence inherent in the system' (and yes, Monty Python did skewer these attitudes 50 years ago). That particular strategy dates back to 60s protest groups. I don't doubt that st least some of those black-clad white males who turned up at BLM protests breaking stuff were either aligned with these groups or inspired by them (I also don't doubt some of them were right wingers trying to provoke chaos).

As someone on the left who partly stopped attending demonstrations because these *holes kept hijacking them I can assure you that they are not new and they are not just a reaction to the right. They are small in numbers & not especially well co-ordinated, however.

I would agree that 'ANTIFA hysteria' is a very new phenomenon driven by right wing politicians & media who want to make the left look much more dangerous than it is while simultaneously ignoring just how dangerous right wing groups are. They have vastly inflated the size & importance of these 'black bloc' groups, who are perfectly happy with such exaggerations - an example of how the same untruths can sometimes suit people across the political spectrum.

 

There are more poor whites than poor blacks.

I know many middle class educated blacks. Why are they not poor given they live in the same America.

Because they live in america and not in a past America. Where white supremacy was huge unlike today.

Black Nigerians thrive in america. And they are black too.

The middle class blacks don't dwell on being victims. They got an education and kept out of jail and have two parent house holds and their kids will be successful.

It may be harder for blacks. But that makes the smart ones work harder .

Because they can compete in the competitive job market, Poor whites and poor blacks cannot all compete in this market in which a certain level of unemployment is mandated in a neoliberal system (see the NAIRU)

The problem today IS the neolibeal system which denies above poverty employment for all, determined/depending on ability to compete.

BTW the middle class blacks used upward mobility and refused victim hood. Most came from poverty. At least the older ones.

I watched the black folks rise from poverty once they were hired by local factories post civil rights act. They took advantage of opportunity .

 

Their grandchildren are rioting in the streets now.

The Left is revolutionary. They are looting and burning and tearing down historical statues.
