So, so were many others, of crimes violent enough to keep them in prison for years to protect the public. Not the case with Stone and his age is against him. Trump did the right thing, especially sense I heard very little complaints against Obama doing this , or harden criminals being released because of the virus.

, Where was your concern 3 1/2 years ago? Obama commutes 330 sentences, most in single day
    https://www.cnn.com/2017/01/19/politics/obama...
Jan 19, 2017 · The move brings the total number of individuals who sentences Obama reduced to a total of 1,715, including 568 who had been sentenced to life

That has nothing to do with it, and I don't expect the Trumpsters to know the difference.

A president who pardons a political ally who lied to protect him is corruption.

Should a car thief, a non violent offender, be sent to prison?

Should Madoff, the swindler, be sent to prison?

Hell yes, and that should answer your question.

Those that have spent time already are getting their sentences shortened, but to go scott free without having served any sentence is another matter.

It's NOT the blanket fact that Stone's sentence was commuted. Stone lied to the court to protect Trump, and now Trump commutes his sentence.

If you can't see the corruption there, then you need to get your eyes examined.

I can't believe how blind some people are, it's like you could put a plate of feces in front of their face and they can't smell it, if it's Trump's.

Why didn't Trump wait until after the election like obama, clinton,etc...?

It was completely corrupt. Stone underwent a political investigation and prosecution and had to be saved by a political action. It was corrupt from start to finish. Personally I consider political incarceration to be un-American. I hate it.

He was convicted of federal crimes. Because he is a 'republican' and famous doesn't make it a 'political incarceration' no more than Haldeman and Erlichman were sent to prison for Watergate.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/07/11/mueller-stone-oped/?arc404=true

The jury ultimately convicted Stone of obstruction of a congressional investigation, five counts of making false statements to Congress and tampering with a witness.

And the men and women of the FBI resent your insinuation that he was targeted because of his political affiliation, noting that most FBI persons are republicans.

What I hate are sick **** Trump supporters who are for the destruction of the rule of law which is murdering the very fabric of America

These are the same morons who shouted "Lock Her Up', noting that the politics of that shout is just fine by them, but oh, should a real criminal republican get sent to the slammer, they got a problem with it. Sick ****s, all of them.

Legally, he has that right, but legal corruption is still corruption.

as for "making the case against Stone", Mueller does a nice job of that, here:

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/07/11/mueller-stone-oped/?arc404=true

He communicated in 2016 with individuals known to us to be Russian intelligence officers, and he claimed advance knowledge of WikiLeaks’ release of emails stolen by those Russian intelligence officers. [...]Congress also investigated and sought information from Stone. A jury later determined he lied repeatedly to members of Congress. He lied about the identity of his intermediary to WikiLeaks. He lied about the existence of written communications with his intermediary. He lied by denying he had communicated with the Trump campaign about the timing of WikiLeaks’ releases. He in fact updated senior campaign officials repeatedly about WikiLeaks. And he tampered with a witness, imploring him to stonewall Congress.[...] The jury ultimately convicted Stone of obstruction of a congressional investigation, five counts of making false statements to Congress and tampering with a witness. ---Robert Mueller III

He done wrong, sorry. You can't do those things and expect to get away from being punished, because not to punish such crimes will encourage others to do it in the future, and there goes the rule of law, out the ****ing window and republicans are leading the way.

Lol this is B.S.. Stone the felon was Trumps campaign chairman. that's what separates Stone from all other pardons period. .Stone the Felon illegally protected the president during his campaign. This is the case of a decrepit liar returning a favor to another decrepit liar.

Trump wishes he was in mother Russia where his enemies disappear into the night and he could rule with an iron fist.. Unfortunately for him he is in the United States where the rule of law and democracy flourishes.

They committed actual crimes, not process "crimes."

Like I said, processs "crimes." He should not have been incarcerated.

Certainly not true of the management that sent them on the investigations.

I'll give you the benefit of doubt that you didn't include me in that. I am not a Trump supporter but I do believe that the FBI got ahead of its skis.

Glad to know there are no morons on the left. I'm not in the mood to sling insults about the left so I'll let that one slide. I would offer some advice but my post would get deleted if I did.

Obstruction of Justice on a federal level is a felony. Trump is an idiot he has no sense of the law. He's simply returning a favor to a loyal azz hole

It's very disappointing that Trump could do such a thing to us all. We shouldn't had voted for Trump for President. I'll pick Biden over Trump and I hope Biden wins.

What looney tune told you that? Your premise is absurd, even the AG advised the president against commuting his sentence, and said that 3 years was fair.

Some process crimes are serious "real crimes", and obstruction of justice is one, lying to Congress, etc., of which he was convicted.

the jury was bias lead by a dem that hated trump and anyone associated with trump. she lied about her bias to get on the jury. that alone will likely lead to a new trial for stone

What planet do you live on?

Do you think courts of law have fun giving 40-month sentences to people convicted in front of juries?

So it should not be a crime for anyone to lie to Congress while under oath? It should not be a crime to tamper with a witness?
